Have a look on youtube for the very basics (where to put your fingers!) then just piss about with it. Stick to one chorus of a song you know off by heart and just keep plugging away. You'll soon get the gist of it and you'll feel rewarded when you finally get one line right! Pick up from there.

I would book some lessons with a tutor just so that you start with the right habits and don’t get into bad habits that you have to unlearn before you can make progress. It’s also worth aiming for the exams as well as you learn music theory too.
