Yep big factor, or maybe hot head coaches, silly new rules or being offered £12-15 for 2-2 1/2 hours work.Blame the parents. In all aspects
Absolutely correct.Too much hassle.
Was a problem back in the 80s and it’s never been different sadly.Yep big factor, or maybe hot head coaches, silly new rules or being offered £12-15 for 2-2 1/2 hours work.

That probably works out at 2pence for every time he was called a ****Same during my time of playing in junior and men’s football. Can’t see it get any easier sadly.
We once had a ref, who we picked up and drove to the ground, then brought him home, only for the sod to want a £10 for travel expenses.
Don’t know how old you are but there was a referee called Eddie Branagan back in the 80s, who booked a lad for saying it was a mans game, the only booking we got all season and it cost our team the prize of a grands worth of kitThat probably works out at 2pence for every time he was called a ****

Apparently, I’d known the ref for about a decade before he did me for that. I once asked the same ref, if he had a sun dial instead of a watch as it was that dark and he wanted to play onSo where you on fire
Our lass is the secretary of the bairns team and couldn’t get one for tomorrow. Someone from the club found one eventually but it’s getting terrible.Anyone involved in Junior Football having problems appointing referess due to a shortage of refs.

My sons a ref and moved down South for work 7 month ago and had 16 requests to ref games tomorrow as he's still on the Durham FA listing. Our lass is the secretary of the bairns team and couldn’t get one for tomorrow. Someone from the club found one eventually but it’s getting terrible.
When I was coaching I was luckily with a very supportive club, it was made very clear of our policy of respect towards players/coaches /officials before they signed up, all parents signed the policy. Not surprised. When my son was playing, I've seen the level of abuse they get from some parents.

Worst one I saw was someone's Grandad. His bairn was the next Messi and anytime anyone tackled him fairly and won the ball, he was yelling his head off demanding a free kick etc. After one tackle, he came on the pitch and pushed the ref over
The ref sent him off and said he had to watch from the far end of the field. He was standing all by himself still ranting away and waving his arms around
