Why don’t the council install some form of netting on the bridge to stop people being able to jump?

beacuse then people will find somewhere else inconspicuous, at least the bridge has passing volume.

I don’t think he’d be offended by answering on his behalf, and he’ll correct me if I’m wrong, but I think he volunteers for the RNLI. Bloody good job they do as well, quite sobering how often they seem to get called out.

I’ve always said they should raise the height of the barrier .You will never prevent people who are absolutely determined to die but at least you could make it more difficult .

Was told today of a well known and liked lad from Sunderland , ex-DJ in town , took his life few days back, suppose to have jumped from bridge , such a waste and so sad

I heard that on Sunday. Close friend of mine was friends with him back in the day and was in bits.
Not seen it publicly confirmed yet so probably best not to name him.

Another incident on the bridge this morning. Number of fire engines, ambulances etc there at half six this morning. Still there at eight when I came back. Doesn't look great but hopefully whatever is going isn't as serious as it seems.

It's so sad like. It just seems like the worst place ever to go and end your life aswell. Thankfully I've never been in such a dark place but I couldn't face going anywhere near a bridge like. Brutal
