Anyone ower there any good is long gone by their early 20s.Unbelievable that he never won a senior cap when Medina, Angeleri, Scocco, Vergini and Ustari did
Would it not often be the case that the big European based players often didn't travel back for nothing fixtures as well? I might not happen as much these days like.Anyone ower there any good is long gone by their early 20s.
The clubs take turns in putting the leftover players into the squads to “earn” a cap in nothing games which they hope will help to con the more gullible clubs in Europe into believing the player is better than they actually are. SAFC happened to be gullible, desperate and skint when the majority of those were signed. Hopefully those days are over. Juan will knaar how it gans ower there.
Yes.Would it not often be the case that the big European based players often didn't travel back for nothing fixtures as well? I might not happen as much these days like.
I thought the same. Iirc he mentioned it took about 2 years until he was properly involved in squad conversations/banter etc. due to the language/culture barrier. That was a shock.
Worth noting that when looking at the likes of Bennette, Semedo, Rusyn et al. who all speak little english and have nobody else in the first team that speaks their language. Luckily I think as fans we'll be fairly patient with them anyway.
I was there watching him play in his debut for The Willow Pond who I played for in my glorious pub team days. He ironically played centre midfield which is where I performed so admirably. Banter with former pond players we always have our usual all time pub team best 11 for the willow and I have to squeeze Julio in beside me I was that good,,,erm I mean he was. How he got to play for a Sunday league team was due to his friendship with a former chef at the academy called Andy Smith who he is still great mates with. Any how’s Andy and a few others said to Julio when you retire come and play for us jokingly. Julio after a couple of beers said way aye. He kept his word. Legend.Imagine rocking up on a cold Sunday morning, rough as Tarzan's feet, and ya've gotta mark Julio Arca.
Nee Sunday leaguers on here had a game with/against him??

I remember talking to him in Diva one night with him hobbling around the place on crutches. Imagine the pelters a player would get for doing that nowWas desperate to go and tell him once in Justice but I didn't want to bother him.![]()
I remember seeing Liam Lawrence in Liquid on a Thursday night, stood on his own and looking a bit lost to be honest. I was desperate to tell him how shite he was.I remember talking to him in Diva one night with him hobbling around the place on crutches. Imagine the pelters a player would get for doing that now![]()
Was probably Adam SandlerI'm 90 percent sure I seen him In Asda galleries Washington today, he had alot less stubble as to the last time I seen him on tv doing his interviews after the south shields game so I was bit hesitant whether it was actually him but If It wasn't him he has a double. Been kicking myself all day I should of said hello and asked if it was him but I didn't want to bother him or look stupid If It wasn't him, he was a hero of mine growing up
