Seemed a bit reluctant to say much about him. Still no idea what is role is, if he got 20% for £3m seems a very strange deal when we are looking to take out short term loans.

All very iffy TBH. It is apparently a deposit and future investment will come one we progress up the leagues. Seems to be that 20% for 3m with the promise of future investment is a great deal for him. Especially when his 20% will be worth far more if we go up .

Exactly, seems very strange, get a stake cheaply, don’t invest anymore. Then if we manage to do well and you are already sitting pretty, invest a bit to push us on if you fancy it.

CM said in previous interview that Sartori paid the initial amount that was in line with how much SD had initially paid Short for the club. As SD hadn’t paid the full amount yet, neither had Sartori. As future payments are due to be paid to Short, Sartori will increase his payments.
Think this was on the Wise Men Say podcast but not 100% certain on that.

Yes think I heard that but didn’t really make sense to me, might be that he will actually pay more than £3m for 20% that’s just the actual cash he has handed over as it stands. Would make more sense but I’d still say his involvement doesn’t seem that clear.

sounds like SD is keeping his Sartori card up his sleeve for the future. rather than pester him now for 5and 10 million here and there, lets keep him in reserve til we need the really big bucks.

Aye and it definitely wasn’t that clear from last nights podcast. Again in Sd’s previous podcast he was a bit more open on the plans and said that when he felt he didn’t have the financial power to compete, Sartori was the man to step in and take over the club. However, last night he seemed to want to avoid saying that.

It was the only thing he seemed a bit reluctant to talk about or go in to much detail on. Seems a genuine enough bloke so probably nothing in it, just all feels a bit strange.

He said as much. Sartori had a desire to get involved in a 'big club'. He's been given that opportunity to be involved at a distance for not much cash, with an opportunity to get further in if it becomes more interesting to him I suppose. He's clearly a good friend of Donald and has been able to help out with a short term cash issue - no pun intended - plus back his friend and get involved.

I'd rather deals were being done in the semi-open than behind the doors. I bet there've been deals done in the past which would make our collective toes curl.

It was very clear...but people prefer conspiracy theories.

Disappointed it wasn't spoken about more in depth on the podcast. The whole £3m deposit thing and the SBC loan have still not been addressed clearly, but the lad asking the questions tonight sounded happier to just have a casual chinwag.
He was finishing SD’s sentences for him and generally completely passive. Asked more searching questions on the seats than on the things that really matter. Basically allowed SD to skirt around the points and did not take a single shot at the open goal presented to him regarding the ‘financial issues’ which have since been discovered. RR are scared stiff he doesn’t continue to do this and as a result, fail to ask the questions that really matter. The whole thing is just a PR exercise.

You might be right fella but i dont get the logic of it......santi could invest what would be small beer to him but vast amounts to us to make getting back to the prem more likely ..........the longer we are away from the prem the bigger the finantial gap and investment needed to maintain prem status if we ever get there .
He can’t just invest money, there are elf rules regards to over spending, this is the reason we are trying to shift some of the high earners

Donald didn't want to go there regarding Santori really did he. Fair do's. He was very careful with his words about "using Santori". My personal opinion , after listening is that Santori is in line to properly jump onbaord if/when we reach Premier League.

SD wants to get the club in the mindset of spending money sensibility and cutting costs before Juan gets his chequebook out or it will end up just being blank cheques all over again.

I just can’t stand his constant use of “wuh”.

The way I understood it was he’s bought 20%, but has only paid £3m so far, as that is 20% of what SD has paid short at this point in time. If the price of the club was £40m then he still owes another £5m (paid when future payments to short are due).

Personally I suspect SD has saw an opportunity to get us fairly cheaply, spend a relatively small amount, then move us fully on to Sartori when the clubs in a much healthier state. He does the donkey work but nets a tidy profit later on if everything goes to plan.

Ffs lads Donald has been very clear with this.

The 3 million for 20% is 20% of what has been paid to Short so far, Satori will continue to pay 20% worth of payments to Short until all payments are complete to him.

The financial issues that have been discovered seem to revolve around court cases, why would Donald want or be able to talk about them publicly? He said we're putting bids in for players, some of which are close to fruition and we are very unlikely to require any outside funding. So why worry about the financial issues if they appear to be in hand?
