I don't think he's here to spend big, he'll no doubt invest but he will probably use the same scouting people that Monaco use, not now obviously but long-term the plan will be investment in young players who get sold for big money, meanwhile the club runs self sufficient on the wage bill and running costs.

Maybe the whole plan could have been to Get Donald lined up by Charlie and get the due diligence done and ownership of the club in his hands which could be done quickly, then for Sartori to come along and buy the club from them once he's been through the process? If it is I bet Short would be seriously pissed off having cleared the debt for a billionaire to come in with a clean slate
If he's managed to do that, he sounds like a much more switched on,clever businessman.

Nothing wrong with this, Monaco have bought big on numerous occasions, but have still managed to sell their big money signings for even more money. We can stay a viable debt free club while others run their clubs into the ground, it just means we'll still be around when others are not.

Anyone expecting them to throw money about left right and centre forget it now, he's already said we won't be spending millions on signings, it's about getting value for money and buying players that they think can grow as the club grow! So anyone expecting £3-4-5 million on a striker, not happening!
They've already said there will be an initial investment, first to get out of league 1, then a more substantial amount to get promoted to the premier league, but not daft sums, decent money will be spent though where needed.

Still have to sell to buy apparently mind

He's come up to Sunderland to see where he can build our new Airport. Nissan looks a suitable spot.

That's only for League 1 FFP because of our Premier League wages we pay to some of the deadwood, get rid of some of these and we'll be good to go.

We need a few in sharpish as well considering the amount we need

Without wishing to sound negative, where has his 'billionaire' status come from?

The last I read was that his FIL is and that Sartori had sold his then company for around ₤1 million a few years ago but have read nothing new since then.

He sold his company for one billion pounds and being a clever business man do you think he still only has a billion some how I doubt it.

The fee we get and the wages saved on McNair will pay for 4 or 5 signings, easily
