Is only 20 years old and is the best player to come through our academy in my lifetime.

I thought the 1st page needed a pro Henderson thread rather than all this shite having a go at him. FFS man he's a quality player who just 1 week ago bossed the midfield at Stamford Bridge, give the lad a break

Agreed, good man.

Can't believe the negative mood on here as a result of what was a very decent result last night (actually I can).

This discredits Zenden and Catts massively I'm afraid, Henderson played a part in it but he far from bossed the game.

the problem is, the armchair fan expects him to be setting up and scoring 3 goals a game, like a xavi or lampard or whatever, these people that slate the lad id wager have hardly played a game of football and couldn't pass and move from there sofa to there fridge.

He's not too bad, yes best thing to come out of that academy but he's nowhere near world class. Infact, he's seen as a hot prospect at the moment, that's not to say he's a world beater, it's just to say he has potential. So potentially he could be shit but be seen as a hot prospect, people have it in their minds that a player with a lot of potential is amazing, it actually does not necessarily mean they are instantaneously world class to which on the contary many unfortunately believe he is.

Quality player who suffers from the same problem that every 20 year old footballer suffers from - consistency.

that's about it - look at Rooney. He's had another five years of top flight football, and has been poor this season. Not Hendo's best game last night after three good ones, but he'll raise his game again, and we should do all we can to keep him

Decent post Hombre, he waltzed through the game against Chelsea as he was 'something' of an unknown quantity to them.

Everton never gave him any room or time whatsoever last night, that was the difference. He will have to learn to cope with that now, i think he's good enough to adapt.

Neither is he the finished article, long way off infact. Perhaps his confidence was knocked during and after the France game in being overrun in midfield due to Capello playing him in an unfamiliar role and having the 'taxidermist's badger' in Barry, to 'help him out'.

Think his waltzing was as much to do with them playing 3 in the middle to be honest. He was far from an unknown quantity as well, Sky were saying before the match started that he was a big prospect, the rumour mill around him has been going for the last month at least. He hasn't stood out in many of our games this season, Everton has been a return to form in that sense, although he did play midweek for England of course. Hope he starts to reach the level he was showing glimpses of last season, as this season he's been fairly average for a Premier League CM.

I said he was something of an unknown quantity to 'them', i think Henderson would not be on the radar of Zhirkov, Mikel & Ramires.

Aye, maybe. Though if they hadn't looked into his performances after the hype he had beforehand then I'm not sure other midfielders will do either, genuinely, so that might not be an issue. As it is though our midfield is too weak for a good opposition to need to target an individual anyhow, if you negate Cattermole you negate most of our bite there, as Jordan only block tackles, it's a pretty flimsy central partnership.

Hendo on right and Zenden in middle makes more sense I think, as Zenden can run a game as well, and while he's good on the right too Henderson is stronger on the wing than Zenden is weak in the middle.

Very good young player who has the world at his feet but he will have poor games all players do the better players have less poor games and more brilliant ones. He needs a rest mind even if it is a couple of games.

Agree, also his corners can't be as bad as the majority think they are as...

OptaJoe‎: 9 - Only three players have set up more shots from corners in the PL this season than Jordan Henderson. Specialist.
