Canny lad.Mention me to him.

I told him off as a youngen for having metal saw stools. As soon as you say that he’ll know who ya mean.
What’s the reason for that?

I’ve still got me dads old wooden saw horse that he made as an apprentice. I Made a couple of collapsible ones from some 3x2, some hinges and some sash cord to act as supports when cutting something bigger.

Aye good lad Jamie, rookie error, even I nar that.
See what he drags out his van now he’s nearly 30

Scratch fuck out of your work.

Catch them with saw blades.

Cumbersome.

Yet the diluties hide behind “ya not allowed wooden stools them on the sites”

They do t know how to make them that’s the problem

That makes sense. Will stick with me artisan wooden ones.

Be worth money in years to come as the paslode generation can’t make them.
They buy a new set of chisels when they need grinding up

Interesting topic.

I’ve got my Granda’s joiners toolbox in the garage. It’s beautifully made. Dovetail joints, piano hinge, sliding drawers and a leather handle.

In today’s society, who would pay for the joiners time to make their own toolbox?

Crying shame really.

That’s made me think. My dad had a couple of those. One that he’d made and one that a bloke he worked with had given him. I think I may have them in the shed. One of them was long enough to fit a saw in the flip down door, it has a kidney shaped holder that fits in the saw handle and a twisty top that held it in place. I hope to hell I haven’t ditched them.

Aye, that’s the one. There’ll be thousands of these things in garages and sheds around the UK all with sentimental value and not being used as intended.
