First time he has been a bit spiky in his post match interview- ridiculing the interviewer about the new loanee

Definately he was....probably frustrated like us to throw away points again.....but when he looks back on it he will see we only deserved one at best. Its up to him to get the side able to combat tgese shithouse teams like Northampton and Gillingham

Sanderson is the only one that should have started.

Johnson stated he knew all about Gillingham ; if he was expecting long throws and aerial bombardment why not start with players taller than 5ft nowt!? Power-Willis-Sanderson-Flanagan back four and Winchester screening.
In the pre-match conference he said that Gillingham had a strong midfield and never mentioned anything about their aerial threat. After the conference, I was surprised he went with the same line up that struggled to get the ball in the second half against Shrewsbury after they pressed high in the second half.

You don't need to be a master strategist in this league. We will see if he is any good once he has brought a few in, anyone with pace and the ability to score a goal against league 1 defences will see us go very close, we are making hard work of a league we should by now have mastered.

let him have a go and see where we are.

Johnson is going to be here a good while. These new signings may make a difference and we will be a better club once the takeover happens. Johnson may well be a manger that takes us forward and has success. So far though I haven't seen anything on the pitch that shows him to be a good manager - we have been lucky to get the points return we have but its early days and he is only just getting players back fit.

I’ve lost all energy about Sunderland really, but just from watching them we are no better than where we were under Parkinson, that’s the reality like

Line up surprised me. Expected Sanderson to start (the groin thing was a secret) expected Leadbitter to be rested to be honest, thought Gooch may have had a start and didn’t expect Diamond. Expected the nee lad to be chucked in as McFadzean was been woeful.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Lets hope the new lads come in and make a difference.

Absolutely, we need them to be straight in the team.

Today more than any in a good while shows how desperate we should be to get out of this league. Not quite to Wycombe standards but they were experts at winning free kicks, killing the game, sly arms and elbows, and route one football. They were good at it mind but we couldn't cope with it.

I know why it's done, in this team there's no need.

That said if I were a centre mid in that team and I saw the quality of Flanagans punts and Powers over hit clips I’d be dropping in there to if there was no space in the middle!

Yep, I expected a three man midfield with Winchester in (for OBrien) and also expected Gooch instead of Diamond.

Will be interesting to see Tuesday. Expect two new lads to start and maybe O9 and Embleton as well.
