Tactically poor today, far too much passing sideways in our own half. We score then sit back and let them come back at us hoping to hold on to the goal lead rather than pressing on to score more goals. Attacking works well as defensive method too

The soundbite in the pre-match press conference was that Gillingham were "combative and competitive"....so why the "after you Claude" performance by a team that presumably were told that fact by the manager....have they stopped listening already...?

Needs to have a go at himself because it's his tactics which aren't working when we face teams who press high up the pitch.

Needs to find a plan b and quick
We can't beat teams that press us or the ones that sit in. He probably does need to question himself but we have too many passengers in the squad.

Piss poor from Johnson today and more importantly his after match comments about the right hand side.O brien and the left back. Were both horrific O brien is a luxury we can not justify playing this shape.

What pedigree does Johnson have exactly?
Look it's not a high standard, but of the three managers the club have had in League One Ross had only ever coached in Scotland's second tier (granted, he won it) and Parkinson only had brief experience in the Championship. At least you can see Johnson took a team from 17th to on the cusp of the playoffs.

Johnson is going to be here a good while. These new signings may make a difference and we will be a better club once the takeover happens. Johnson may well be a manger that takes us forward and has success. So far though I haven't seen anything on the pitch that shows him to be a good manager - we have been lucky to get the points return we have but its early days and he is only just getting players back fit.

Sanderson is the only one that should have started.

Johnson stated he knew all about Gillingham ; if he was expecting long throws and aerial bombardment why not start with players taller than 5ft nowt!? Power-Willis-Sanderson-Flanagan back four and Winchester screening.
I wouldn't have minded Flannagan at left back. But if we'd failed to break them down he would have been criticised for being too negative, not that McFadzean offers much but technically an attacking full back (I think)
