Johnson post Match

He’s a bullshitter like his old man but his old man got teams promoted. He needs sacking as soon as if you boys don’t go up. I’d take Wilder and give him a decent contact you now have a billionaire and surely a decent budget. If Johnson fucks this season get rid.

Wouldn't have Wilder within a mile of the place - horrible little man.

Yeah let’s sack another manager because that always works. He hasn’t even had a full season yet, give him a chance. We are lucky we are still in with a shout of the playoffs
Its not the sacking its appointing a worse one than the last.

Parkinson would have done better than this fraud.

90% of the players are spineless losers who will never ever get a better club than SAFC but even they must be sick of the bullshit.
I agree mainly with your point but with a couple of minor disagreements.

Maguire can play behind the front man. He’s largely been ignored for weeks now. Embleton can play in that role too but he was loaned out to a side who have eventually become a rival. With McGeady, Jones, Diamond and Stewart also in forward positions, he’s certainly got ‘different’ options in attack but he seems to persist with O’Brien and Gooch for some reason.

The main problem, as is often the case at SAFC, is the centre of the park. He’s showing loyalty to Scowen that he doesn’t deserve and has brought in Winchester who offers next to nothing aside from neat and tidy.

The squad has limitations but it should be better than an average return of 1.63 points per game in this division. Even Parkinson managed better than that and not only was he crap he’d also booted out our best player.
He should be sacked for that alone.
Stopped listening as soon as he uttered the standard ‘they’re a good side’....... every fucker in the league is a good side according to Bilbo Bellend.
scared of Blackpool now. :)

No I get the impression from his last two interviews it’s fan negativity out there in the ether which is rubbing him and the players up the wrong way
Or something in the media/fanzines. It was an odd comment to make given they play in an empty stadium

Theres no cohesion in tactics or selection. Every game brings a number of changes....its a very irratic way to manage a football team, no matter what the league.

Johnson is also coming out with the same post match interview every week. Its starting to remind me when Parkinson used to say we would set up to stop our opponents.....its giving teams too much respect.

I can't believe I'm saying this after the run we've been on, but I think he's lost the plot. Just like Jack Ross, the bloke has a need to over think and overcomplicate things in a league that rewards promotion to sides that consistently do the basics right.

LJ is now looking like a lot of the players we've accumulated over the years, who haven't got what it takes to play for the club. His Sunderland career is very much looking like Jack Ross: Part 2.

I hope he can turn it around, quickly.

I think if the powers that be are thinking we will get rid at the end of the season anyway, we may as well do it now and it could give us that lift before the play offs because right now there is no way this man is motivating these players to win anything

Something is going on behind the scenes with the whole Maguire not playing thing and some of those players today just not seeming to want it enough !!!

It was an attacking formation or would you rather have 2 defensive midfielder and Scowen in there at home?

Yes, I would as it isn't an attacking formation if the only way to reach the opponents final third is to hoof it (as it was as they had the extra man to press)

Great post

I've noticed that too TS marra. Bit of a long call when we are not there.

Don't think he believes in these players as his backing of them is hollow. I don't really blame him for that as I think they are crap as well.

As for the head coach, didn't want him to get the job, but am prepared to see how the summer progresses before forming an opinion, which could read as sharpening a pitchfork 😉

Thats true but come on , the teams that have beaten us in that last 3 weeks are no better than we are.
Fundamentally his thinking and tactics are flawed. he persists with 2 in midfied and as you saw in the first half tonight we were overrun , yet he won't change it. He said himself "last 10 mins we had a go". last 10 mins , Blackpool sat back and tried to manage the game , so we were able to get some forward impetus. That wasn't down to him.
This is fundamentally his issue. Why the fuck does he keep picking 2 in MF. It’s so bleeding obvious.
The team to that started tonight was arguably the strongest he could have put out wasn't it?
Absolutely not. He continues with 2 in MF and this squad can’t handle it. Several better and obvious options. AOB out Winchester in. LG to RWB MP to CM AOB out. Can you see the theme?

not listening, not interested in anything anyone from the club has to say,
watching that game tells me all I need to know,
also not arsed about the match day experience survey bollocks!

just give me a better team ffs

He's a lost cause, he got the gig before christmas and had a transfer window were he signed a player from league 2 he proclaimed good enough for the championship.

He doesn't pick his best XI and shoe horns players into this abhorrent 4222. He's got Obrien essentially playing alongside Wyke with a vast amount of space between them and our midfield allowing the opposition to essentially dominate the midfield. Our wide men are essentially ostracised to the periphery as our two midfielders are that deep they aren't supporting, O'brien and Wyke are much of the same looking for the ball to them, leaving only the full back supporting the wide man. It's screaming for a 3 man midfield or a player with some ability playing in the number 10 role.

I'll add that blackpool fan channel commented how they themselves put an extra man in midfield for this game and it showed. Johnson saying that the first half was even stevens is a massive red flag because the only way it was even was on the scoreline. We couldn't put anything together and they certainly knocked it around better and looked more composed.

The problem with johnson is he's built a rod for his own back. In 3 games I can remember playing 433 with some what marauding midfielders and wingers high up the pitch, these being Lincoln, Doncaster and hull the other week. We look so much better being proactive than dithering with this 4222 rubbish.

He loves this formation mind, maybe USA 1994 was his favourite ever World Cup and as Brazil won who played that formation a lot back then he's decided that's how he wants his teams playing. When it isn't working he then decides to try and copy the Brazil World Cup winning team of 2002 and goes 3-4-3

Genuinely haven't listened or watched a single interview since he got here  reading or one two quotes is bad enough. Dunno why people bother.

It's been almost the same as Parkinson. Took a little while to stop the shit results when he first came, went on a good 15 game run then it all turned to shit again thereafter.
When I say almost I mean exactly

I think his analysis was reasonable, albeit like every manager he looks through rose tinted glasses.

In my eyes far too much can be made of the LJ v. Parky stats. Parky never had a successful run like the one we've just had, his "tactics" were just safety first, and his interviews were in the main toe-curling. At least LJ is articulate (although whether you accept what he says is another matter).

As for the squad, LJ was not put in funds to do more than tinker with it and it will be interesting to see what he puts together next season (regardless of the division we are in). The current crew are has beens, never will bes, flatterers to deceive, some decent young players and a few outright donkeys. It would take a magician to get them to play consistently well.

In reality we are two post season games from promotion and things may not be as black as they look now.
