Johnson post Match

Yeah let’s sack another manager because that always works. He hasn’t even had a full season yet, give him a chance. We are lucky we are still in with a shout of the playoffs

Remember when he first joined and said “we don’t need to worry about other teams, we are Sunderland, they need to worry about us”

What an absolute load of shite
Everyone ever since has been a ‘good team’ or ‘good side’. I have lost it tonight. That first half was abysmal. Players playing for their future- ie; not getting injured..

Everything he said was right. However, it is either down to him, the players or both why, at this moment in time, we are an absolute disgrace.

No I get the impression from his last two interviews it’s fan negativity out there in the ether which is rubbing him and the players up the wrong way

Sick of people spouting this absolute drivel. We are doing worse under LJ than we did under PP, and Johnson went 12 unbeaten.

Sacking managers isn’t the problem, replacing them with equally bad ones is. We are lucky yes, but that’s nothing to do with Johnson. That’s to do with everyone who was above us becoming shit.

Lets give him the summer to bring in his own players, go on another run where we get 3 points from 27, sack him and then get someone else in without a pre-season.

He looks a broken man in his interviews. He needs shot of now.

He's a lost cause, he got the gig before christmas and had a transfer window were he signed a player from league 2 he proclaimed good enough for the championship.

He doesn't pick his best XI and shoe horns players into this abhorrent 4222. He's got Obrien essentially playing alongside Wyke with a vast amount of space between them and our midfield allowing the opposition to essentially dominate the midfield. Our wide men are essentially ostracised to the periphery as our two midfielders are that deep they aren't supporting, O'brien and Wyke are much of the same looking for the ball to them, leaving only the full back supporting the wide man. It's screaming for a 3 man midfield or a player with some ability playing in the number 10 role.

I'll add that blackpool fan channel commented how they themselves put an extra man in midfield for this game and it showed. Johnson saying that the first half was even stevens is a massive red flag because the only way it was even was on the scoreline. We couldn't put anything together and they certainly knocked it around better and looked more composed.

The problem with johnson is he's built a rod for his own back. In 3 games I can remember playing 433 with some what marauding midfielders and wingers high up the pitch, these being Lincoln, Doncaster and hull the other week. We look so much better being proactive than dithering with this 4222 rubbish.

Can’t disagree with his analysis but when he talks about making changes I’m afraid it’s the same as Parkinson. He doesn’t actually have that many options available to him other than replacing similar players with each other and hoping something clicks.
How's about playing with a midfield 3 instead of shoehoring a totally dogshit waste of space (O'brien) in to the team. How about trusting some of the Young players (Younger, Neil) like our competitors do.
