Johnson post Match

Thats true but come on , the teams that have beaten us in that last 3 weeks are no better than we are.
Fundamentally his thinking and tactics are flawed. he persists with 2 in midfied and as you saw in the first half tonight we were overrun , yet he won't change it. He said himself "last 10 mins we had a go". last 10 mins , Blackpool sat back and tried to manage the game , so we were able to get some forward impetus. That wasn't down to him.

Spot-on. I'd say the last 10 minutes the players just had a go regardless, barely knowing where they were supposed to be. It certainly want down to him.

Jones plays a different role to Scowen although is of course more of a goal threat.
Maguire is as streaky as Gooch and also looks unfit . Certainly doesn’t add any pace.
Stewart has shown nowt to suggest he’d be any better than OBrien imho and the latter is more experienced

He's always been played with Wyke though, can you recall many sides that have played regularly with two big lads up top and made it work? I'd prefer to have seen him replacing Wyke as a sub over a half dozen games or so. I doubt it would make much difference in the short term mind. It took a while for Johnson to bring Wyke up to speed, it'll probably take longer to see what the Jock has to offer, with only a couple of games to go unfortunately we haven't the time now.

That's the thing though, he's putting himself under pressure. Pick the best you have available in their favoured positions and, if it doesn't work- the finger is pointed firmly at them. Instead, he seems be trying to be clever and it simply doesn't work with this level of footballer.
By doing this he's giving already delicate players an excuse for failure.
The team to that started tonight was arguably the strongest he could have put out wasn't it?

trouble is what do we do as a club ?, we have tried renown international managers, premier league managers, old managers, young and upcoming managers, foreign managers, all have failed, so where do we go from here and who can possibly have the answer to this clubs never ending problem of failure ?

Its worth noting that our strikers are Wyke and another target man. Not a lot can be done to change things there.

In terms of central midfield, it's either pick a uncreative midfield or some different uncreative midfielders

Its quite limited in what we can change. We are just totally predicable and have been for 2 year.

Its not all Johnsons fault, it's just a very tidy but very bland squad.

I agree mainly with your point but with a couple of minor disagreements.

Maguire can play behind the front man. He’s largely been ignored for weeks now. Embleton can play in that role too but he was loaned out to a side who have eventually become a rival. With McGeady, Jones, Diamond and Stewart also in forward positions, he’s certainly got ‘different’ options in attack but he seems to persist with O’Brien and Gooch for some reason.

The main problem, as is often the case at SAFC, is the centre of the park. He’s showing loyalty to Scowen that he doesn’t deserve and has brought in Winchester who offers next to nothing aside from neat and tidy.

The squad has limitations but it should be better than an average return of 1.63 points per game in this division. Even Parkinson managed better than that and not only was he crap he’d also booted out our best player.
