Joey Barton latest dig at SAFC

Reading a BR forum after our game and the majority of them seem to have him worked out already. Full of excuses and soundbites but hes not backing it up with results on the pitch. Not a happy bunch at all.

The thing is with people like Barton, you don’t have to react to them. You just sit back, bide your time and wait for them to destroy themselves.

In the Daily Mail this morning...

How bizarre, Joey Barton's insistence that he would never manage Sunderland. Lee Johnson the current manager, has got them to third in League One, two points off automatic promotion with games in hand.
Win these and they would go top. Barton meanwhile is fighting relegation at Bristol Rovers, having been sacked by Fleetwood. At the weekend Rovers lost 0-1 to Sunderland. "The red & white side of the North east don't like me" Said Barton. "But deep down there is a side to them that secretly does and they'd want me to manage them. They just can't say it out loud because they know i'd reject them. As much as they want me i could never do it".
Having rejected a job at a more successful club that he's never been offered, never been linked with and never to any public knowledge, even been considered for. We can only wait in trembling anticipation for the latest bulletin from Joey's World.
In the meantime a spokesman from Sunderland said... Huh?
Does anyone remember when he moved to QPR and he claimed that he would have gone to Arsenal but the Gervinho incident kyboshed it. He's always done this in the press.
He's just looking for some attention before he gets fired, he must know it's over and that he will probably not get another job unless he fancies dropping down into the national league and working his way up- management is extremely competitive and he's wasted both his chances (even if he keeps Bristol Rovers up he'll inevitably be sacked in November). He's another Di Canio- The thinking hard man image but all fart and no shite when it comes to organizing a team to get a result.
Di Canio at least got a team out of League 2-
He'll probably land a shit punditry job where he is contractually obliged to have 'controversial opinions' until he says something really stupid and gets fired from that- or just beats someone up.

Who? Seriously who? Someone needs to have a word with him. In the grand order of pantomime dames he is a way down the list of football people that flutter into Sunderland fans conscious on occasion.
Good I suppose that this nobody thinks associating himself with Sunderland will help his profile. 😂Let’s all laugh at Barton 😂

He's like the girl off the film who wants "fetch" to be a thing. It's nice, in a way, that the delusional can see repeated justified expressions of disgust (for consistent bullying and recognised-by-law GBH) as some kind of 'come and get me' plea.

On the other hand, his brain literally doesn't work properly and he's safest kept away from the nice things.

Liking for the mean girls reference.

He's a little child desperately looking for attention and validation, he has a constant need to be in some way relevant to us, it's actually quite pitiful really.

If I was a supporter of the team he managed I wouldn't really be impressed at the fact that he talks so much about another team in interviews rather than deal with his teams issues.

As someone in the thread said earlier, the best thing to do is ignore him.
