Joel Lynch

This signing seems to run contrary to other recent recruits, in terms of attitude and character. The likes of Willis and Dobson seem committed professionals with some talent and something to prove.

Lynch has a reputation for manufacturing time off for himself, particularly around Christmas. Of course, this might not be quite the issue for SAFC players this season, if the Bolton and Bury situations don't improve. But it does, potentially at least, also run against the previous commitment to ending the piss-taking by players

The one year deal and Lynch being naturally left-sided seem to be the positives to take from this.

Hopefully, the concerns are all theoretical and Willis and Ozturk become inseparable for the season.

Quite a strange view on things. Where are you getting that information from?

Our other player with a seemingly difficult attitude scored a hat trick on Saturday. You need a mixture of characters in any successful team.

When the Jowl Lynch transfer was first mooted on here last week, someone posted on here an assessment made by a QPR supporters group. In addition to the conclusion that he is a fairly limited player, it included an analysis which showed that Lynch had missed the Christmas fixtures for 10 out the last 11 seasons, whilst suggesting that he quite likes a winter break in Dubai. The absences were apparently attributable to dubious injuries and suspensions arising from manufactured bookings.

I'm aware of the reported attitude issues with Maguire. My point was that the more recent acquisitions have come with the 'model professional' label and I would like to think that this has become an essential criteria, particularly so if we are to avoid the piss-taking mercenaries of previous years.

I get what ya saying but on a 1 year deal we really haven't got nowt to lose..

Noted

Mr Lynch will probably do more harm than good. If he gets picked that is.

Definetly a L1 signing. He's no Alonso...

That Muhammad Ali on his arm?

He's just signed for the biggest club he'll play for, the lad must be chuffed. Welcome Joel lad, best of luck.

The roof truss in the background looks as though it needs touching up mind.
Can't believe no one else has picked up on this - looks amateurish

Didn't that f1 bloke take them over?

He did, unsure if they're still involved, but I think they're owned or part owned by one of the Mittal's, who is worth circa £20bn, he's one of the richest men in the world. His son in law is the chairman.

However as QPR found out, they are still restricted by FFP and without PL revenue, a small stadium, low crowds etc. they're fairly restricted.
Denzil Washington

 He was the Hurricane marra. I'm surprised no one suggestedit was Kieran Richardson.

20b f***ing hell.. you'd think they'd be doing better with that kind of money behind them

Just checked, he's a minority shareholder, he has an 11% stake, the rest is owned by the Tune Group (55%) and Ruben Gnanalingham (33%). Ruben's father is worth circa £1bn. The Tune Group is owned by Tony Fernandes who you were referring to, he's worth circa £500-600m and owns Air Asia, he also owns Caterham.

All in all, their owners are extremely wealthy and they undoubtedly have some of the wealthiest owners in domestic football. I'm unsure what their plan is now, as you know they made a major stab at it several years ago when they spent a load of money, but their level of expendeture did not adhere to the EFL FFP criteria. I'm pretty sure they were threatened with a £50 odd million fine, unsure what came of it.

Fair enough just seems a lot of assumptions to make based on very little. Quick Google suggests he played and scored on boxing day last year so fingers crossed more of the same for us!

Good cover, we will have injuries and suspensions, left footer by the looks of it so can cover st left back as well. Played many games the division above and only 31. Not finished yet at that age normally.
