Jobe the striker

Think we've found our solution to the striker problem - scored 4 this season and with luck - and more experience - should have been a few more.

Mentioned earlier that he apparently played there when a bit younger. Doesn't surprise me as he looked quite adept there Saturday and earlier in the season a couple of times.
Pretty sure he said himself earlier the season he didn't want to play up front.

He looks like he has the best attributes to play the role we want from a striker at the minute. I just don't think that's our best tactic, we should be playing a quicker striker, like rusyn, and playing balls through and over the top to him.

We've been punished time and time again not being able to break teams down playing this way. We don't, imo, have the pace to play this way and get away with it long term

I get what you are saying however

I think a lot of that may have been down to feeling like we have to play Jobe, often in the 10 role.

Where I think if hes a striker and we have Pritch (for 70mins)/Adil playing off him we'll be better at breaking teams down

Even then, swap him with Rusyn when needs be or later on to stretch the play or put them both up top

The two goals (one disallowed) by Jobe this week are the type of goals we are short of. They don’t demand great technical skill like curlers from outside the box but rely on desire and determination to get in the six yard box.

A few others should take note. All goals count the same.

It feels like such a catch 22.

Don't play him there and the most likely goalscoring forward of the bunch isn't being put in the most effective role.

Play him there and you risk him being disappointed at being out of position.

They also showed what the other 4 strikers are missing, instinct in the box.

Considering rusyn had hit the post two or three times in the tiny amount of minutes he's played seems a bit harsh to write him off already

Jobe has scored most of his goals while playing the 10. Today his goal came while playing further back.

No reason we can't play him and a forward.

It was disappointing we played a back 3/5 today and at no point played a striker nevermind two.
