Jimmy Savile

Never seen this interview before. The bloke interviewing clearly knows about the way Savile is but won't press him properly on it.

Why is it that people were scared to ask him straight up?

The Sun, Mirror and Sunderland Echo should of had him on their front pages for a week asking for answers.

Louis Theroux more or less asked him if he was a nonce in the late 1990's. Well, he didn't quite, but I saw it before the allegations came out and it was obvious then what he was suggesting to him

There was a documentary a few years back by Louis Theroux, iirc he regrets not asking more questions.

No idea why people were so afraid to speak out

It's well worth watching in full for anyone who hasn't seen it. The bloke clearly had some wiring in his brain amiss. He kept his mam's room in perfect condition for something like 30 years after she died, including all her clothes in her cupboard etc. and would salute a picture of her when he walked in the room.

I think it's pretty obvious why people were afraid to speak out. Those who spoke out risked being turned on by the establishment. It's no surprise that one of the few people who called him out on being a paedo in the late 70's was John Lydon who had no worries about being turned on by the establishment since they already hated him at the time.

Can he take a proper throw in though?

Isn't there a video knocking about where the sex pistols mention what he'd been up to at the time. IIRC it was part of a documentary being made about them?

Thing about Saville he never hid the fact he was a bit weird. Things he's said over the years that now make you shudder he was in plain sight almost
