Ji may be sold for 6-7 mill

Only Kinnear could pull off a big money sale like that, a la Earle, Holdsworth, Scales etc.

The SMB law of economics;

Ji on the verge of being sold for £500,000 - "Cash in, will never be a premier league player for as long as I have a hole in my arse".

Ji on the verge of being sold for £7m - "Disgraceful that he wasn't given a chance and a scandal that we're selling proven big-league starlets just when we're supposed to be rebuilding."

:lol::lol:

Technically I thought he looked pretty decent. Thought he did brilliantly in the goal against Man City. But his movement was just strange - like a school kid being thrown on to the pitch and sort of running around without really making a proper run or looking like he knew what he was doing.

I don't believe for a second that anyone will pay 7m for him, certainly not Dortmund.

Where's the craic about him not wanting to stay come from? I missed that.

The Dortmund link seems credible apparently. Linked to Bild?

I actually really like him. Think he has a hell of a lot of potential. He is still hardly any older then some we are signing for the development squad we need to remember

Highly doubt any fee will reach 7m. We are just going our best to drive up the price, which is nice!

Will be happy with 4m or so. Should help PDC secure his targets.

If Dortmund are "linked"? What are they seeing that safc haven't? I mean they got lewandowski cheap and unheard of, look at him?

Personally I'd sell!

Never been impressed tbh. The lad has a small amount of potential but he just doesn't look like a PL player in any way. Can't see us getting £6m like.

Maybe 3-4m

I think that's more down to our short sighted management. Anyone can see the lad has great technical ability even when he appeared to be running about like a headless chicken for us. He's looked outstanding at international level and in the bundesliga.

I don't get this 'not suited for the premiership' bollocks. Not in his case anyway.

This. Good luck to him, I hope he proves his doubters wrong.

Good luck to the lad, he wasn't given a chance. All I can say about it is get used to it, this is the Undinese way. Sh-t isn't it?

If a german club actually think he is worth that. surely we should re evaluate his potential. after all we orginally job was Bruce & Mons job. Might actually be good :eek:

People who are judging him off the occasional ten minutes here and there up front in a struggling and demoralised side who can't even pass the ball (and don't try) don't rate him, unsurprisingly.

Those of us who have bothered to watch him play for Augsburg in every single game since January in a team that is trying to pass the ball realise that he has already proven himself a top tier midfielder at a very young age and think rather more of him, again unsurprisingly.

To be honest I rated him since pre-season when we bought him and have been very frustrated at the way the club have failed to bring him on. He's always had a lot more technical ability than any of the English players of the same age and seems to get up for big games (City, Olympics, critical relegation deciders in the Bundesliga etc.)

He has has far far more game time in Germany (and played in his best role) than he ever got in 1.5 years here. Obviously his current value should be judged on his performances in that time...

I think good luck and fair play to the lad and let's see if we can get £5-6m for him.

So he always seems to get up for big games and the people who don't particularly rate him that highly were wrong for not rating him, even though you've more or less admited he wasn't 'up' for the majority of games (albeit many short ones) he played in for us? Whatever way you try to dress that up, you're acknowledging he didn't play that well for us, yet want us to rate him on potential, stemming from the fact he's got some ability.

Anyone could see he had some ability about him btw, but the Premiership is a faster paced league than the Bundesliga, like it or lump it. Therefore to get extended chances and to actually excell in the Premiership, you need to really have a lot about you and no one in their right mind could argue Ji at 20 (ish) showed that over here, irrespective of what he's done playing above expectations in a poor side over there.
