Not about him not suiting league or team, the 2 managers he played under didn't give him a chance. When he played he did look good.

I thought he looked out of his depth most of the time.If it wasn't for the way he took that Man C goal,I can't think of much else to impress. If he's improved his game in Germany and can come back and make it here, all well and good.If there's a doubt,I'd cash in now and use the money elsewhere.

This.

not sure about good but he was no worse than most of the others. it would be very fair to say he wasn't given as many opportunities as others.
unlike most of the players on their way out Ji leaves us with a few questions still unanswered.

Wanted us to keep him as he looks as if he could turn into a really good player but there's no way we should turn down £7m or there abouts.

That will be £4m spent (Mig and Ji) for £13m profit, if both happens, not including any add ons we may get for Mig.

6-7m

Why? He's clearly benifited from it.

He certainly didnt look like a £7m player when he was here.

I think that's more down to our short sighted management. Anyone can see the lad has great technical ability even when he appeared to be running about like a headless chicken for us. He's looked outstanding at international level and in the bundesliga.

I don't get this 'not suited for the premiership' bollocks. Not in his case anyway.

Best quote of the month! Ji doubters will always be there. But for them just a tidbit for them to wonder as they fondly wish MON back. Scored against Chelsea and Man. City when he played less than 15 minutes in each game. Scored against us in the Olympics. Plays ahead of a bloke who went for 10M to Bayern Leverkusen in their National team. Wanted by Dortmund and scored 5 goals for a sure relegated side with no support. He was never given the time here because of MON and yet instead of feeling sorry for the guy who proved everybody else wrong the legion of MON supporters want to sleep comfortably at night by saying he didn't impress. Don't think even RVP or Rooney can impress if you play zero minutes or 5 minutes of injury time. He got exactly one start after the City match and didn't even make bench 80% of the time.

its f**king scandalous that we've had a player on our books and payroll for around two years and most people are still unsure if he'll make the grade. even more bizarre when we've struggled to field eleven players at times.
he's leaving more mysteriously than he f**king arrived.:)

Good luck to him if true, was a waste of time us signing him, never gave him a chance

it would've been half understandable if he'd been second choice keeper behind mig or first reserve behind a 40 goal striker.
we've struggled to field a f**king team at times. we've spluttered and mis-fired across the line and we still barely know if he's got PL potential.
i'm definitely not saying he's the answer to our problems but for us not to really know either way at this stage is f**king ridiculous.

If he goes to Dortmund I bet he ends up looking really impressive in the Champions League!

What an odd feeling. For our circumstances a £2m profit on a player who hasn't broken into our team means we should sell. But won't it feel strange if he turns into a class player for one of the best teams about and we sold him?

You have to understand that they are not bidding for Ji that Bruce would sling on with 7 minutes to go or that MoN couldn't fit into his anti-possession football side. They aren't even bidding on a striker.
They are bidding on one of the better young central midfielders currently playing in the Bundesliga.
Described by the germans as 'strong' (! ), quick, two footed, technically proficient, a good header of the ball, with a great engine and carrying a goal threat.
If that's what he has shown himself to be, even if he's not the finished article yet, then 5-6m doesn't sound that stupid does it?

After all someone paid 35m for Andy Carroll and 8m for Wickham!

It's a shame that he doesn't want to come back, any player his age whose made a success of things in the Bundesliga is worth a go - especially if he's ours in the first place.....

Understandable though. Why would he want to put up with the lack of patience from all parties again?
