Maybe someone got the wrong end of the stick,? maybe he’s had a change of heart? I don’t think he’d string people along if the deal is off, just causing more problems in the long run that so I believe we are working on it.

Nah, that’s too generous. It’s gone quiet because the people who were calling for Johnson to be sacked as he didn’t fancy the Defoe deal have been made to look like the absolute cock-ends they are

If Defoe fails to score after the first few games, the usual suspects will be on here blaming LJ for it.

Bloke behind me today blamed Johnson around a dozen times in the first half. Stuff like 'this is shite Johnson', 'Sort it out Johnson'. 'you don't have a clue Johnson'. I was very tempted to turn around and cup my ears at him after the goal. He had blamed Johnson for every mistake in the first half yet strangely did not give LJ any credit at all for the winning goal. I assume if hes responsible for a mis placed pass then he is also responsible for the winning goal? or maybe not............

This is a blatant example of a journalist reading between the lines and misinterpreting quotes. Then trying to claim an exclusive. You are totally naive and are showing an unwarranted amount of loyalty to a journalist who got it completely wrong and has quite frankly embarrassed himself. You are connected to the journalism/print world? It doesn't make you right, it makes you blind.

It’s mad, isn’t it?
He was at fault for Flanagan missing the ball on the half-way line last week before Accrington scored, missing his clearance which led to Lincoln’s penalty and Winchester’s red card; and for Gooch’s airshot before Maguire got the third. I’ve seen and heard him blamed for almost every individual error a player makes. I don’t understand how that works

I'm not naive like, that's you. You are totally missing the point.

Just proving my absolute point, kicking off as its something you dont wanna hear. Standard.

I know exactly how it works, especially at a local level, and especially at the northern echo.

The more you post, the more you prove my point.

Johnson's comments are welcome, and I always believed he wanted him, but doesnt have any impact on the merits of the article.
