Jeremy Clarkson will remain the host on Who wants to be a millionaire

I'm not so sure. These days where all companies are so terrified of some daft melt crying about nasty things on social media he might be in a bit of trouble. Looks like amazon are shipping out - will ITV be next.

He is going to need to sell some lager to make up the difference.
He's got other projects and the programmers will make more.

Amazon can do what they want and it's their business decision. They also have departments full of people who run those numbers. I'm fully prepared that I'm going to die in a woke world. Like I say. Meh.

Its a funny thing I like Clarkson, meghan and Harry.

In a superficial way - never met them - never will.

Clarkson is entertaining, but I can imagine him being a right knacker in real life. Some less well edited stuff on you tube shows this side.

Series 2 of Clarksons farm was shot in the summer of 2022 and has been in post production since then to get the stuff we will see.

Pretty much agree with this. I do think a lot of people have missed the Game of Thrones reference, and I'm a bit pissed off some TV shows I like watching won't be made anymore, but it does show there are consequences to the things people say and do.

Disney or Paramount will pick Clarkson et al up within the year. Disney will be my guess.

Grand Tour was a big subscription draw for Prime, iirc it was probably the first big original series they had?

I’d like more of the farm program.

He’s said some stupid shit over the years, and this is the one? Really?
Yeah he has. I don’t think he can help himself. His sub editor must have ok’d the newspaper piece so as usual cash is king. Lots of publicity and he can turn it into a throwaway line on one of his programmes much like Jimmy Carr does about paying tax.

Exactly.

Caught out emailing a licky arse apology to Harry (not Meghan), had it publicly rejected and now has to frantically backpedal to win his pink-faced fanbase

It’s like watching a cat trying to bury its shit on a lino floor
Bizzare, I enjoy his content but recent years he's not done a lot to help his image. A lot of what he says is for show or reactions, especially the late Top Gear stuff and Grand Tour, it's how he made his career to be fair he just kept taking it further.

I don't think even he buys into half the shit he says to be fair which means the people who idolise him end up being a bit simple to say the least.

No one calling out why his apology was publicly rejected though .

Those seeking privacy from and who are being very critical of the press are using the leaking of the email through the media to suit themselves.

His mother used the press to suit herself at times before complaining about them where it suited.

Hypocritical Ginger twat.

Certain royals shrugged and thought they might as well use press interest to their advantage.

To begin with press attention on Diana was based on the GBP absolutely loving her. When her marriage took a bad turn, so did the coverage.

Harry saw his mam, his gran and his wicked stepmother try to play the media and thought it was easier than it actually is. Having Meghan and her crew in his ear has added petrol to the bin fire.

Its funny because Amazon havn’t even really dumped him. He’s still got two more series of Clarkson’s farm to release and there is enough episodes of the grand tour already confirmed to last until at least the end of 2024 or even early 2025. They could easily change their minds over next two years

They should have accepted his apology and move on.
Except they seem to love the publicity

As with others, I find his pontificating on Top Gear and Grand Tour entertaining. As I said a few weeks ago, he made his mouth go (stupid remark in pub stuff) and it was typical Clarkson. But it was the way he did it, using national media to do it and an apology was the right thing.

In using national and global media to spout off, he brought his respective employers into disrepute. This has led to far lesser figures than him face far greater consequences.

Amazon have decided he's gone too far. Obviously, the pressure put upon them by their customer base has brought them to the decision that he's more a liability than an asset. As such, he's being moved on and he's only got himself to blame for his situation. Once again, Hammond and May have been let down by him.

I replied to a tweet the other day saying that although I believed Meghan had been badly treat, it was time for them to wind their necks in as regards publicity and move on. Two Americans immediately jumped on my tweet and told me in no uncertain terms to leave Harry alone and let him speak. I withdrew my tweet to keep the peace.

Taking into consideration Opera last year and the recent publicity and interviews preceding Harry's book, it seems the Americans are still hungry for information on Harry and Meghan and possibly they haven't had the wall-to-wall coverage we have had in the UK. I may be wrong on this. But it may be the US market that has determined that Jeremy Clarkson is no longer the asset he was and it was time to let him go.

You may well be right once the furore has died down.

It looks like the real reason could be because the goose that laid the golden egg just isn't doing that anymore. Clarkson's farm supposedly has average viewing figures in the US and GT supposedly only gets a fraction of its original viewership. If it's true that Amazon pays him £10 million a year then I can see why they might be parting ways.

He will have a contract, it won’t be an issue if they terminate it early , they’ll still have to pay him everything due.
