Third on the bill to 'Little' Stevie Wonder and Junior Walker.

I did a bit research a few years ago and PGFM had done a few pub gigs the same year but that tour was their first in biggish venues. Original 4 piece line up, pre Danny Kirwan.

My first ever proper gig. Went for the soul. Blown away by the blues.

I was complete gig virgin who'd recently got into soul to meet girls (btw didn't work) and was really looking forward to Stevie Wonder and Junior Walker. Hadn't heard of Fleetwood Mac, but even their name sounded unappealing. Folk songs about trawlers and oil skins?

Four scruffy blokes, who I first took to be roadies, walked on stage and without any chat or announcement started to play Dust My Broom - very loud.

It was an epiphany on the same scale as a first match under floodlights - but with slide guitar.
