Gooch already has three assists from crosses this season despite mostly playing as a central midfielder. McGeady put a peach on Wyke's head the other night. Hume's delivery is on a par with Diamond's, both put in more balls that get cut out than reach their target.

Fair enough, they're all capable, but Diamond is the one winger who will get to the byline consistently and whip crosses in.

It could be down to set up as well, as I'm sure Gooch could focus on being that type of winger if required, but we've never been set up well for a big man.

Diamond is the only one out of that list who does it on a regular basis. McGeady rarely gets down the line. Gooch is improving in that area, but like McGeady, prefers to cut inside. I like Hume and think he has potential...but I wouldn't say he has a particularly good delivery on him at this stage of his career.

It's one thing we've lacked for a while. We've always had at least a couple of big strikers over the past few years, but we've never been able to play to their strengths. That includes Graham, for all his many faults. He was never going to be suited with the players we have available.
Load of rubbish, one game we had 34 crosses into the box. The reason they look bad at crossing it's because Wyke, Graham and Grigg don't have a f***ing clue how to anticipate a cross or attack the ball. Anyone half decent in the box would have scored a bucket load for us.

As people go on about the chances created xg stat or whatever it's called, we used to be top of it. All we need is a good centre forward and we'll start winning a shit load.

As bad as our forwards are, you can’t blame them for everything. Whoever is crossing the ball has to be aware as well.

A cross has to be put into a good area before it can be attacked. It’s not as easy as telling your wingers to just hit the box and expect the forwards to do something with it.

If we're just aimlessly punting the ball into the box, how would a good striker know what to do? I agree we need a good striker and it would make a difference, but we're hardly carving out multiple quality chances or putting in 4/5/6 quality deliveries every game.

The number of times the ball comes in and Wyke is on his heels, he never gambles or gets across the front of his man, which a lot of the time makes the crosses look poor. The one time he did get across his man was Lincoln and score an excellent goal.

I'm not saying we're hoying in perfect ball after ball each time, but our lack of goals is primarily down to our forwards being shite.

The fact Wyke has hit double figures anyway and he's f***ing awful tells me we're creating enough for a decent forward to hit double that.

You definitely won’t find me disagreeing about Wyke being shite like.

It was apparent after we signed him that he wasn’t good enough to start every week for us yet somehow here we are.

Reading this you realise just how good Maja was, invariably he'd only need one chance, or make the chance on his own.

He may be an OK signing and better than Wyke but it would be yet another immobile big lump and I was kind of hoping we would move away from that as it hasn't served us well.

You don't understand what people want?

someone who is quick or at least mobile,

have you not watched us for the last 10 years?
Sounds like some people want / expect the complete forward with a goal scoring record in L1 or above. Ain’t happening. Kissing frogs is right!
