January Signings

Alarm bells there mind. Our squad is massive. Yes it lacks elements but the issue isn’t numbers or depth. It’s specific skills and quality. If we continue to lack focus and allow such shallow thinking we’ll never maximise our potential as a club.

Absolute minimum of 4 new first team signings, if we're serious about getting promoted this season. The 2 signings that Alan Nixon said we were after just wouldn't be near enough

Striker, winger, central midfielder, right back. All urgently required
I’d be getting a completely new front three if I could. Not happy with the current options.

Ya just know we won’t get what is required. A bit of pace would be nice.

If that's the case I'd suggest the manager isn't being supported then, given he's added more pace and energy into the team whenever possible. It's an easy way out for him complaining about depth though, he doesn't have to upset anyone saying "players aren't up to it" "we need more quality etc" before new players come in. Of course people will moan regardless of what's being said but Parkinson isn't daft.

If this is the case then the recruitment team have learned nothing. 30,000 people every other week, along with those watching streams can see what we are lacking.

Why can't we just sign one good player who will be a starter and make a difference instead of a clutch of no hopers/has beens for the same money?
Exactly, just like when we decided not to pursue Van Dijk for £7m and we got Coates, Matthews and Kaboul instead.

Van Dijk went to Southampton and made them a fortune. We sold the three we signed for buttons and in Matthews’ case, it took us until the end of his contract to move him on.

He’d have cost more than that mind, he cost Southampton £13M. You’re right though, far too many times we’ve went for quantity over quality.

Clint Hill to cover anywhere along the back line. Ben Watson to be a powerhouse in midfield. Jon Stead to lead the line.
