Impermanence is the only permanence, marra. Pierre Bezukhov is a character in War and Peace who said: “All we can know is that we know nothing. And that’s the height of human wisdom.”
Reminds me of a couple of things I’ve heard & use.

Use - the only consistent thing is inconsistency

Heard - the only 2 certainties are - death & nurses

👍😄

Accepting that one knows jack shit is the first step along the road to enlightenment me owld marradigm.
In the pasture of the world,
I endlessly push aside the tall
grasses in search of the Ox.
Following unnamed rivers,
lost upon the interpenetrating
paths of distant mountains,
My strength failing and my vitality exhausted, I cannot find the Ox.

That's In Search of the Bull. Very zen. Mind, there's a surfeit of bull on the SMB. Sifting it is the problem....

Quite often the search is more enlightening than the find. Other discoveries along the way can be just as satisfying, and enlightening.

Morning Hank, morning all.

Taped highlights for the duck th’day.
Afternoon Edd

Morning Sis. I used to visit Kettering when I was a nipper. Had an uncle down there. The only thing I clearly remember is Wicksteed park. It’s probably a housing estate now.
Afternoon Dilli marra, l can reassure you Wickstead is still there and going strong. It has changed over the years in a good way.
The water shute is still there but been upgraded and you may remember the train which has been extended, so would still bring back fond memories.
Lots of new housing going on, but that seems to be the norm around here.
Do you still have family over there?

No mate, not as far as I’m aware. my uncle passed away many years ago now. I’m glad the park is still there, the water chute in particular. I’ll try and visit it again some day if I’m in the area.

Afternoon, Sis, la. Yes, I went to see my mate with lung cancer on Tuesday. He'd been to see the oncologist the previous day, who was delighted with the outcome of the lobectomy. He still has to have some "mild chemotherapy" to "mop up". That should start in March. Two of his brothers paid him a surprise visit from Dublin, sho that cheered him up no end.
My mate with NHL recently finished his second bout of brutal chemotherapy. He sent me a photo of himself out walking his daughter's dogs in the woods. He looks great. Way better than me (although that's damning him with faint praise, ha, ha). Thanks for asking, Sis, la.

Fantastic news, awful disease which touches so many friends and family.

Saw security man but he was busy so I managed to leave without speaking to him. Phew!

It's really windy here now.

Conflict - no sorry, eg mags & Salop

Ageing - caught in between stools with this one as eg (some) wines age & some don’t

Failure - no sorry, it’s often only temporary 🤭

The Test? - the test of time seems appropriate or Wakey’s Wacky World of Wobbles, cloughywobbles 😳💋😩😄
