Evening everyone, a win is a win and makes up for a desperate day at Fratton earlier this year.

As usual the pre and post match entertainment was better than the match, big thank you to @horselover for the ham and pease pudding sandwiches, great to see your grandbairn mate, another one given a life sentence
Absolutely m8, a lifetime of pain for him

Good evening all. 3 points get in. Chuffed. Work threw up an interesting conversation today. My youngest is 10. Had Covid last week. You are ok; can't get it off the internet. The conversation went to what it was like when I was 10. Sundays were bloody boring. Everything was shut. There were 3 television channels. And songs of praise was like an alarm bell that bed soon and school tomorrow. I used to look forward to certain nights of the week for a television show to be on. Like The Gaffer.

I compare it with now. TV on demand. We watch what we want when we want. Sunday is just another day. The person I had the conversation with was horrified when I said the internet did not exist when I did my degree. 'How did you study?'

With a book and a jotter and a pen. Stage right, incredulous looks.

This isn't a right or wrong comment, more a crickey, I'm getting old and the world is changing fast.

I remember all that very well, when I did my degree (OU) in my 30s we were still using the same techniques as the 1960s, the only change they made then was from BA to BSc for the degrees that are worth something Cue outrage from all the ology students. 😉 😊😊 But you are correct things are moving fast, In computers it's gone from Basic to Fortran to all sorts of specialist languages Pascal, Intouch etc. Windows running DOS to windows 1,2,and 3.1 then win 95 ,win 98, XP, Win 7,8, and currently win10 , How the hell I kept track of all that god knows. That's apart from all the machine control languages ladder logic etc. All we can do is keep track of the latest one you use and look after it, so much useless shit in my head need to format the f**ker. Rant ower finishing off Whiskey great result and ready for bed, sleep tight mates. 😊 😊 🤗

I'm basically an electrician who developed an interest in computers from sinclair spectrum and games to PCs and studied to develop into a PES engineer/manager. PES programmable electronic systems controlling hardware and interfacing with PCs. ( Controlling Cranes conveyors etc sometimes in hostile environments).Sleep tight mate. 😊 😊

The thing my bairns can't get their head round was the lack of communication I had with some friends at school. I was friends with them in school but they lived in other areas, so I said bye at 3.30pm on a Friday and didn't have any contact at all with them until 9am Monday morning.

Sometimes feels like her friends live in our house as they're always on video call to each other.
