I love the way Sunlan fans who've never heard of a player before we sign them suddenly become experts on their football ability and medical records.
It not us that wrote these reports about his fitness, most of us will admit we know nothing about him other than what we read.

I'm not sure where it said he was comfortable on the ball, he is a big lump but he can play Defensive Midfield I believe.

Good Player, Id be happy although assume this means no more Kone.
I think we need more than one new CB.

I would like to bring in Kone, but if its between the two then a German from Bundesliga is better than Ligue 1 standard.
Kone's a regular for Lorient, though. Kirchoff didn't play for Bayern hardly and has a horrendous injury record. If it was between the two, I'd like us to go with Kone.

Bayern accept Sunderland offer SUNDERLAND, LATEST NEWS UPDATE: 2 HOURS 43 MINUTES AGO Sunderland are on the verge of signing Bayern Munich defender Jan Kirchhoff after agreeing a fee in the region of one million euros. Defensive reinforcements are high on the agenda for boss Sam Allardyce this month and the Black Cats have reportedly already agreed a £5million fee for Lorient's Lamine Kone. Kirchhoff is the latest named to be linked with a switch to the Stadium of Light, with reports in German publications Bild and Kicker suggesting a deal for the 25-year-old is nearly complete. Sunderland are said to have already agreed a price for Kirchhoff and have offered him a contract through until the end of the 2017/18 season. Kirchhoff will be hoping for more action should he move to Wearside having only made seven first-team appearances for Bayern since he linked up with the German champions in 2013, spending part of last season on loan at Schalke.

I would love both in the team. Don't know much about either but love a new transfer. Provided it aint Nolan.

Everyone we sign will be a gamble, nobody will come to a club in our position, in particular a club in the North East if they had other options.

It's all about the money, pay them enough and they will come, the problem is we have been doing that in the past and ended up with shit we cant get rid of on decent contracts.

As far as I know, Kone is done and I'm not hearing anything different to last week. It could be the work permit scenario rearing up again These two, together, seem to be the type of players we are after, big, strong and can play a bit. Just hope they get thing sorted for Saturday but I wouldn't be surprised to hear both have been completed by tomorrow in time for Arsenal

Was Kone not born in France meaning he wouldn't need a work permit?
