As always, any player that comes to us isnt going to be perfect. Due to both financial constraints and the fact we arent an attractive proposition for many means we have to look in the damaged goods section, however, Kirchoff has spent the last 3 years at one of the biggest clubs in the world - he was obviously there for a reason and his experience there can only be a positive for a club like us.

If Allardyce thinks he's an improvement, and our medical staff think he is fine, then I look forward to him signing.

Not too keen on this one, he hasn't played this season and looks like he has had constant injury problems for the last 4 years according to that transfermarkt website.

Couldn't agree more...

It could possibly be a gamble not to sign him (going down)

Massive risk but for clubs at our level to attract a decent calibre of player it will always need to be with the caveat of some element of risk. M'Vila on paper was a huge risk.

If we had been in for Bojan when Stoke were most on here, me included, would have had reservations but look how that's worked out.

Provided the signing isn't at the expense of other, more 'safe', signings then I'd say it's a risk worth taking.

I also think an influx (him, Kone, whoever else) would be a good thing for the squad. Of course it's important not to affect team spirit, but to be honest there isnt much evidence there is any right now. A few fresh faces could do wonders - both in competition for places and too blow some cobwebs away.

Judging by Watford's performance since signing practically a whole new team in the summer maybe the need to gel and build team spirit is over stated?
