Jamie Vardy

Enquired but he didn't want to come, the club are ambitious but despite being Champions of England were still perceived like we're a small club who got lucky rather than serious players. Only consistent success will change that and if we're ever going to make the step up to a big club we'll never have a better chance than the position were in now.
Wonder why?

Claimed he was happy at Leicester, if that was the case he wouldn't have a release clause.

How recently did he sign his contract? Was it after he started to get attention/international caps or prior? If they agreed to a $22m release clause after he started to come good they're daft.

Leicester will have the 13th highest income in world football next season, the days of us selling our top players will fully are gone.

Leicester have enquired about Morata, we are looking to spend to get better not sell the family silver.
That top line is looking a bit of a fragile statement now mate.

Firstly

Your second point... We thought that about SKP (who was better than Vardy by the way). Turned down an £18m bid from Spurs, he went for less than £4m 18 months later.

We took the money with Bent and in hindsight was the right decision.

Vardy is an excellent player, but for £22m and approaching 30 as a speed merchant. Snap their hands off
Thanks for writing that. I was planning a similar reply, but your post says it better.

I think this deal is the best for both sides to be honest

Leicester get decent money for what I think will be a one season wonder and Vardy gets to make the most money possible in a short space of time

Only because he wanted away. If hed been genuinely happy here then pushing him out of the door ala Henderson would be footballing suicide........admittedly we spin the pistol barrel every transfer window anyway.

If I was Leicester Id be fighting to keep him. It could be another hundred years before theyre this good again.

Arsenal heavily linked with the likes of Higuian, Benzema, Cavani etc in recent years but could end up with Jamie Vardy. I'd be so underwhelmed if i was an Arsenal fan.

I like Vardy but Arsenal should be getting better regardless of how good he was last season.

If they sell Vardy and Kante and Mahrez their bottom line will have em higher than the 13th best income!

Ferchrissakes marra dont tell him that. His heed barely fits through his office door already.

February this year - £80k a week.

I meant willingly sell our top players. :(

.

Players sales aren't calculated in the Deloitte income list.

It's TV money, merchandise, sponsorship, gate money, etc.

We on here who are old enough to know had all this back in 1973/74 marra. We won the FA Cup with three very very good players (Watson, Tueart, Monty) and a couple of prospects (Pitt & Horswill). City took three of em as we couldnt offer them a rise due to Govt pay freezes introduced to combat rampant inflation iirc. Monty stayed as did one of the prospects who retired injured shortly after.
Tueart virtually went on strike. A player whod been skipping past defenders for fun then suddenly found himself only capable of running up to hem then passing it sideways/backwards. Funnily enough in the ECWC & LC games his dribbling ability which had deserted him in Div2 returned.

The players have the power and both parties are very aware that they could have career ending injuries during the next training session never mind game.

The lad is a f***ing idiot thinks a club like Leicester are no longer a selling club just wait until they drop out the top 30 of that rich list in a couple of years time when they're back in the bottom half fighting relegation battles
