Youd be pissed off players who won you the league left?

Anyone of those who decide to stay other than vardy will regret it. Vardys a special case due to his age and hes a one trick pony. Leicester will finish top 6 at best next year and their chance will have passed. If they dont do business next season the fans will be pleading they are sold. Theres no loyalty in football anymore and they owe you nothing after last season

Very ungrateful view to have.

The club is still on an upward trajectory:

Won the league by a massive 10pts
Pot 1 in the Champions League
13th biggest club in the world next year on income

Whatever you may think of Leicester as team since 22nd March 2015 we've absolutely dominated the Premier League, this would be the standings:

Leicester 103pts
Arsenal 86pts
Man City 84pts
Man Utd 82pts
Tottenham 81pts
Chelsea 73pts
Liverpool 68pts

Anyone leaving now to move to "better things" against the will of the club will be tainted IMO. I could begrudgingly accept a Real Madrid or Barcelona but if they end up at a PL club I'll be seriously pissed off. Leicester can compete with salaries for our top players with the elite clubs, I want our best players to stay and build on this and see if we are the real deal or a flash in the pan, any of our players who jumps to the first elite club who flutters their eyelids at them won't go with my best wishes or respect. If we finish 8th next season and bomb out the Champions League then fair enough they can go but not whilst we're the best team in the country and still moving forwards as a club.

Call me ungrateful if you like but that's my point of view, I've had a taste of the big time and I'm greedy for more.

See you can post sensibly without any "local boy makes good" type arrogance. Keep it up.

If Leicester can do it then SAFC can do it. As can Everton, Forest, Southampton, Leeds, Sheff Wed, WHU, Villa, Derby etc etc etc. Good on you.

You won't even finish above us this season man.

Mahrez, Kante & Vardy.

Our three worldies.

Everton had a Holy Trinity back in the late 60s man. Ball, Kendall & Harvey iirc.

Claimed he was happy at Leicester, if that was the case he wouldn't have a release clause.

Supposing they sacked Ranieri and Welsh/Walsh(?) tomorrow and brought in Lawrie McMenemy as manager and Di Fanti as DOF? I know my contentment levels would drop regarding Leicester and Im not even a fan never mind a player..........be funny mind though wouldnt it?

Well done in refraining from mentioning how many weve got by the way.

It was 51, only 17pts behind Liverpool in that time which actually isn't half bad.

I'm sure you'd settle for 17pts less than Liverpool over the next 47 games?

You would've only finished 4th on your massive 81pts 2 seasons ago. Last season the league for some reason was totally fucked up. Its going to f***ing brilliant when your plodders start playing like plodders again

Would you?

Of course not but Leicester and Sunderland are at two different places right now and not comparable. Sunderland would be delighted with 12th next season but for us it would be an absolute failure and important momentum obliterated. Our ambitions of becoming a top club all but sunk as we nestle into the also rans position.

It's about walking before learning to run, Sunderland at some point need to have a boring mid table season and solidify it's status as a PL club rather than being in a relegation battle from Day 1.

If at the start of last season someone offered me 17pts less than Liverpool over the next 47 games I'd have taken it gladly.

I can only apologise for the other top clubs disgraceful performances last season.

If three teams got 81pts+ two seasons a go it highlights the gap in quality between the top teams and the rest. That gap is closing considerably now as with the new TV money the lesser PL clubs can buy the best players in the world that are not wanted by elite level clubs.

Look at Palace buying Cabaye and West Ham buying Payet. Both these are French internationals that could feasibly have gone to a top club but they took a different option. Dzeko being linked to Sunderland who are a club that constantly stay up by the skin of their teeth but a couple of years a go he was at Man City and in that band of players who were top players but just short of world class.

The elite clubs will always have the best players in the world and can only be so good no matter how much money they have. When French internationals and top players outside the world class bracket are joining the also rans in England then it makes life a lot harder for our elite teams as the gap in quality is closing.

Can't see him getting another season like the one he's just enjoyed. This was perhaps his last, best chance at securing a big money move? He'll be 30 next year and one must assume his strengths will decline more rapidly. I doubt someone will come in for a 30/31yr old Jamie Vardy and I'd imagine he'll tumble down the pecking order at a Leicester City splashing the cash because they're desperate to get another fix of success.

Not that money should be the sole motivator, but if I were in his position I'd have taken the move to Arsenal (or wherever) for the big bucks and the increased likelihood of adding to his trophy cabinet, and a season or so later moved on to a mid-table club like Everton, benefiting from the premium that's attached to representing one of England's "big" clubs. Drift down the leagues if he wants, or retire at the top.

I think that's a good point that's often overlooked. A £50m player now isn't twice as good as David Silva was then, it's just a reflection of the market.

What can Wenger offer Vardy - realistcally...for me it's the chance to play at one of the worlds biggest clubs and that's it.

He's won a trophy, he's playing in the CL...what can Wenger offer above that? Wenger hasn't won the PL recently.

And if he stays at Leicester, he plays. He moves he probably ends up Lambertised - on the bench.

He'll get more money out of Leicester for a season or two. Then end up somewhere else.

Some bitterness/jealousy from our fans on this thread like. We'd be exactly the same about wanting to kick on and wanting more.

Granted the second season seems much harder but all the best for leicester next season. Deserved good will for being the best team in the league. Elite clubs waking up to the fact that more money means the league will be more competitive going forward. The influx of managers at top jobs shows it.

Hope the team stays together and you dont implode. Change at the top is good and natural progression.

Hope we spank yous like ;)

I agreed with you all until the last sentence. Vardy is 29.5 so if he stays at Leicester his next move will more than likely be a step down.

It's not inconceivable to think that Leicester will be more successful than Arsenal over the next couple of years if he stays plus he knows that at Leicester he will be the main man and the team will be set up to play to his strengths and supply him with chances.

He could easily find himself on the bench at Arsenal , on the wing or they still pass the ball to death and negate his pace to a large extent.

For Leicester to grow in the long term they need to move the likes of Vardy on – he’ll do another season – but after that, if he’s still your main man, you’ll be standing still – and ultimately backwards.

He won’t be happy on the bench at Leicester either. So get another 20 goals out of him and then move him on and sign somebody better.

Realistically, you’ve had your moment in sun – you won’t win the league again – but what would be massive for you would be to establish yourselves forever more as a top 6 team. Flirt with CL every year – qualify occasionally – and you’re winners. I don’t think you can expect more than that – but anything more is a nice bonus.
