James Wilson from Man U on loan...

I’d rather just ride the injuries out than loan him. If we are going to loan a striker I’d rather a big physical type as a backup to Wyke. Don’t want him stifling Maja’s development for the sake of it.

I think Ross picking (and leaving on) a 16 yr old in midfield shows that any player wanting to get into the starting 11 has to work hard, I doubt it would be any different if Wilson were to join, he would have to prove himself worthy of a start upfront alone or as part of a two, as will the rest of our forwards regardless if they ours or loans.

Maja's development is very much up to himself now.

When Danny Rose signed for us, he was 22 years old and had made 16 Premier League appearances and 30 on loan in the Championship. Should James Wilson sign for us, he will arrive as a 22 year old who has made 15 Premier League appearances and made 38 appearances on loan in the Championship. That's a massive difference in terms of both age and league games played there!
There’s a reason his career has stalled.

Think he would actually be decent for a year if we want cover/ competition on the left.

Could also play left-back too if we lose Oviedo, competition/cover for Reece James assuming Matthews will be right-back with Love injured. I know we have Denver Hume who looks a good prospect but sometimes experience is needed.

Aye mate. Released by Sheff Wed this summer. Knows the club, cheap and could maybe do a job for a year.

He's 33 mind so winding down but there's the Scottish link with John Ross.

If Oviedo goes then he might be decent to bring in to play lb? Possibly not fast enough now......but anything to keep Love out of the side.
