A dose of confidence a goal would give him might be all he needs.

He causes a lot of problems for the opposition simply working hard.
His flick ons, closing down etc draws mistakes from the opposing defence which in turn creates space for the rest of the team to play.
It's only been two competitive games anyways so I'm not too worried, even if he only scores a few here and there, the hard work he does for the team in general is an asset.
If he was a black french speaket and cost 13m he'd be excusedI must admit I'm slightly worried that after 2 games he hasn't shown even the slightest glimpse that there is any sort of player in there somewhere. At least normally you go, he's nervous or, no service or was unlucky and the goals will come but he can barely kick a ball.

Still don't get the animosity toward Vaughan.
Over.
Over or under 6.5 stupid marra? I'm thinking well ower.More than just a little stupid is contained in this post. I'm not sure what being black or speaking French has to do with being shit. I call shit players shit, as does most everyone on here. For example: N'Doye is black and speaks French. He got pelters on here because he's a terrible excuse for a striker. N'Dong doesn't get as much shit because he's not bad. Maybe not worth 13m, but he's really not a bad player: he's not Toivonen, for example.
Whilst I've got to agree he doesn't come across as a fantastic footballer, the sheer work & physical presence he possessed against Derby did a hell of a lot for us in the final third. It's the first time we've won second balls for a long time. Mainly because Defoe, isolated, didn't bother if it wasn't perfect for him. Now that's not me having a go, because Defoe would also have scored a couple of goals against Derby but we're playing a different game now. Applying pressure high up the pitch so we win the ball back quicker & nearer the opposition goal. This is due to the other teams defenders & midfielders not being as comfortable retaining the ball the way Premier League teams would.I must admit I'm slightly worried that after 2 games he hasn't shown even the slightest glimpse that there is any sort of player in there somewhere.
