James Milner

Today has been like the last day of the window when Keane signed half a new team, absolute whirlwind.

Milner totally destroyed us at the SOL for Villa under MON. If we can get him playing to anywhere near that level he would be a brilliant signing.

Milner to good for us, stop kidding yourself if you think he would come hear.

Why would he come here and destroy his england chances??

We should stop with this nonsense. Bent scored his first goal for England while at Sunderland and Hendo got his first call up being a Sunderland player. Even Fraizer Campbell got a call up ffs!

He's shit, was one of the worst players at the Euros, avoid if at all possible.

Another vastly overrated England intetnational who is probably past his best, but still anf improvement over our current bunch. But why would he leave the league champions for half the salary?

 Living up to your name. He's a cut above all of our midfield, he would walk into our team.

Really? He wouldn't be any better than what we already have in wide areas and is less of a goal threat than Craig Gardner, he'd probably be a slight improvement on Cattermole as he's better on the ball but I wouldn't want to be paying more than £3m for the lad.

Shite bait.

Puts an end to the England argument does that

Past his best at 26? He isn't even in his prime yet, man.

O'Neill spoke to Milner around March / April time, testing the water over him coming to SAFC.

At the time, he was struggling to get a game and has previously said he's been unhappy with the regime of Mancini.

Since then, they've won the title and his lack of games at City (in the first pick) did not affect his chances with England. They'll fancy their chances of a longer run in the Champions League this year and will need a big squad to do that.

The suggestion made at the time was that ManC would pay part of his wages and we'd have on loan for a year.
