James McConnell

One of the lads flogged off by Donald. Its an utter disgrace how much talent was shipped out. We will always lose one or two but Donald actively saw them as a money making option, thinking no one would notice. They should all start coming through now, some of them will be getting towards 20 years old, so they will be needing first team experience.
But we got loads of players on loan from Liverpool. It was a good deal for us remember?

It's interesting to see. Maybe McConnell will be the one to do it. We lost about 8 players and none of them has done as well as Dan Neil, who chose to stay. Greenwood, who is nearly 22, is finally getting a run of first team games in the champo. Pye has just gone to Burnley U21 from Man U. Hugill is awaiting a breakthrough. Maybe McConnell, who was less heralded will be the one to make it in the Prem.

Perhaps, but it was the 89th minute when 4-1 up in the europa league, with Liverpool heavily rotating. Still a great experience for him.

So far none of them are doing better than they probably would have been if they’d stayed. They’d likely be in Neil’s shoes with loads of senior games and experience. Maybe Mumba who is also playing regular championship football at his parent club

Not to say they won’t go on to better things, but as it stands now. Greenwood looks like he’s finally getting some games. And who knows, maybe Hugill moves somewhere and his experience at Man Utd puts him in a great place and hits the ground running. We’ll see

He has no long term future at Liverpool, he isn't good enough. He will be seen as way to make loan fees and to eventually sell to a Championship/League One club.
