He has no stance he is not Irish he is British end of story

He has a stance, seeing as the Crown Forces murdered 6 innocent unarmed people from his estate who were partaking in a march for civil rights in a part of Ireland occupied by foreign forces. You seem to be quite ignorant on this matter.

Ireland is a very different place to what it was 30 years ago. Someone has spent a lot of time druming shit into his young head. I know lads who served during the troubles, some of the things they could tell you are awful.

And maybe as a kid growing up in the Creggan estate in Derry he knows lads who lived there during the troubles, and some of the things they told him are awful.[/QUOTE]

Maybe he's just a bigoted spud thick twat. His new team and owners should be appalled.

I like the baggies, good set of fans, I hope they give this **** pelters. What a f***ing arsehole, I genuinely hope he snaps his thigh bones and never plays again.

Reported, arsehole.

So everyone else should care about what happened to people on other sides of the Troubles but James McLean doesn't need to?

I think you're the deluded one, pal. McClean is Irish and he's not afraid of the bigots like you.

Attention seeker, and its working. Have a look how many posts he has allready.

McClean is expressing his views. You can take them or leave them but getting outraged about them just shows complete ignorance of the matter.

I'm sure we can start listing the crimes of the IRA?

Bailing out of this one. All I say is I've been to Northern Ireland a few times. The lads I went with served there and we met up with lads they met while doing so. Not one thing that went on got mentioned and the folk we spoke to were great. The bars are mixed and most people support English teams. The troubles are history and I don't understand why this kid can't be a voice for young people. Or and the lasses love a Sunderland accent;)

I spent a year in Belfast in 1970 during the height of the troubles and never had a moments problem.

The Catholics I met loved the English but hated the British Army.

Don't fall into the trap that makes you think this( the Irish question) is all easy to understand.

He should have respected our national anthem if he wants to play in our country. Respect isn't singing it. Respect isn't placing a hand on your heart. Respect is not making yourself stand out and make a point of turning your back to it. If his beliefs are so strong that he equates every manifestation of Englishess as somehow linked to Irish atrocity then quite simply, and quite regrettably, he shouldnt be working here for English football fans.

The fact is his beliefs aren't that strong. He's just a bigot if we're being honest.

Very childish. He went out of his way to cause offense. Carrying that much hate around is only harming himself. He wasn't a popular signing and now he's made it a lot worse for himself. I can understand to Poppy thing but that is sticking two fingers up at the WBA fans.

Neither side can claim the moral high ground. Both sides acted a terrible way. But that's in the past and people want to move on and build a better future so we don't go back to those dark days.

People like McClean don't want that and want to carry it on. People like him make me ashamed to be Irish.

You can but that's what happens in war. The IRA were a reactionary force due to the inception of a sectarian state and a section of society who were being discriminated against and being left open to attack by their own forces. If you were in anyway informed about the troubles you wouldn't be making such ignorant comments.

That's twice you've ignored the point so I'll take it you don't have an answer.

What point? You didn't make them.

McClean has his views and some people are intolerant to him. His views are very understandable given his background.

It's what was drummed into people marra. Most people were normal working folk. I've never been to Belfast, my mates served in Derry (Londonderry) from what I can gather it was a turf war mixed with religon that got very nasty.

Were the Allies as bad as the Nazis in World Ware 2 so?
