Why be so vague there mate? I obviously can't "see" whatever it is you're pointing out otherwise I wouldn't be posting what I've posted, so just come out with it.
blind faith, obviously.

There isn't, but like the vast majority of people, I bet he wants to earn enough to retire early. Not to mention the fact that footballers tend to sacrifice formal education from their mid-teens onwards to concentrate on football, leaving him poorly skilled for a life outside of football and there's only a finite number of non-playing jobs in football.

Again mate you're being very vague here

He turned down a move to the MLS this summer. So he did have a choice. He's entitled to his views just like are entitled to criticize his views. People in the North are building a better future and are working together. I think it's sad that McClean wants to live in the past and let hatred ruin his career. IMO, he deserves the stick he's getting because he's a bigot and wants to hold his country back. People like him, whether they are nationalists or unionist, who want to continue the fight don't deserve respect.

So what should he have done? Sung the national anthem of a country he believes murdered and oppressed his people with pride? Where do you draw the line between living in the past and living in the present?

I'd like them to get the FA CUP final to see if he does the same and refuses to accept his medal from the Queen.

He didn't have to sing it. He just have stand there and look interested. You can't change the past but the present gives us a chance to build a better future.

I think for him though, that facing the flag would have meant dishonouring the memories of those who had died. If that's what he believes it must hurt him to do that.

I bet there are plenty of Israelites who would struggle to stand and face the German flag - not exactly comparable, granted, but along similar lines.

Israelites
They haven't been around since the sixth century bc mate so I cant see them saluting any flag ;)

Dear me what a clip of a thread.

@Il Bomber and @MakemIndo are just two different cheeks on the same shit-dribbling arse. f***ing pathetic, the pair of them, both need to move on.

And @Frijj the fuckwit has turned up banging on about Thatcher. Another idiot.

You know what I mean. Israelis, is that the preferred term? The Jewish population of Israel if you want to be as pedantic as I usually am.

Way to take what I said out of context and not deal with it at all there.

It's okay for people not to respect Thatcher for the belief that she oppressed the miners and destroyed the communities they lived in but it's not okay for James McClean to not respect England for the belief that England oppressed the Irish and destroyed the communities they lived in...

By lad, you don't half talk some utter f***ing dribble  your analogy is garbage.

How?

I'd like to know exactly why you think it's garbage.

Last time I defend your posts from getting deleted that Paddy
I haven't got the time nor the crayons to explain it you Frijj lad. Work it out for yourself.

England? It was the british army on british soil. Sent there because the sectarian bigotry had turned to violence.
What was the govt supposed to do, let the fckwits murder each other?
McClean is the perfect example of everything that was wrong at that time. Hate filled bigotry. Fortunately the vast majority of decent folk have moved on

You're the second person to claim they know why I'm wrong but not actually tell me today like

I don't think it's bigoted to not pay respect to a country's flag or anthem mind

I think in the context of the situation he's in it's extremely bigoted and disrespectful to the supporters of the club he was representing
