Without getting into the details of the case, despite how violent the crime was, I would never hold a child as culpable as an adult. Yes, they knew what they were doing was wrong, but nobody will ever convince me a 10 year old child understands the gravity & consequences of their actions in a meaningful way like an adult does. I certainly didn’t age 10. It falls into the same category for me as someone with extreme learning disabilities or severe schizophrenia etc. So I support the way the courts handled it, and personally I think anyone who thinks a 10 year old should be executed or given a whole life tariff needs to look at themselves in the mirror.
