I went in there a few months ago for summit, can’t even remember what now but it was desolate. Hardly any of the units were open and there was a handful of people milling about. When my man used to drag me round there as a kid it was like a footy crowd, you could hardly move. Sign of the times innit?

Thorburns fruit shop and Ibbitson's tend to be busy.

Talking of fish & chip, Parkers etc, Louis has shut down hasn't it? Last time I was in there was when I was a kid, did a decent fish lot if I recall

My mam used to take me to the toy stall in the 70's if I'd been a good lad, I'd usually get a plastic dinosaur then go for pie and chips, happy days

Parkers Fish Restaurant. Coincidentally the fresh fish counter in Jacky Whites is called Parkers but I dunno if there's any connection.

same bloke who owned that chippy used to do the 'catering' at Roker Park. Used to work under the Roker end on matches when I was a student.
