Jack Ross

I think he's great. He's feeling the pressure a bit, judging by recent interviews, but that's to be expected. It's how he deals with it that counts. He's not shying away from interviews, not seeking to cast blame elsewhere. He's taking it square on the chin. I think he'll come good, if not this season, then next. I hope we are promoted this season but I don't mind another season in L1. It's hardly the end of the world. I've felt this from the very beginning: Ross has the potential to be a top manager. I hope it's with us & that he goes on to be the best we've ever had. Only time will tell....

I admire your optimism (genuinely) but I don't know why anyone is even contemplating whether he can go on to be the best we've ever had, or why anyone thinks he has the potential to be a top manager. Did really well at St Mirren like but he's shown nothing here so far to get anyone excited imo. I get the fact that he looks the part and he sounds intelligent, often think if he didn't sound so assured, and if he was a bit fatter he would be rated a lot less on here.

I'm not saying he needs to go, I'd keep him as well, but @Mrjardine makes a fair point, this squad should really be winning the league. Any promotion will be job done but if we end up in the play offs and don't go up there will rightly be a lot of questions asked of him. He's got a second choice eleven that would be the envy of many sides in this league. Failing to get this squad up would be a massive failure. It would also be a huge blow to have our last parachute payments whilst still in league one. Ross knows this himself, he said promotion was his target even before we spent more on deadline day than the entire league spent last season. Getting us up this season is par for the course, he can impress by making us competitive in the league above

Replace him with who? Haway man
What a ridiculous argument.

Depends. Let's see if he gets us promoted or not first. He shouldn't be sacked yet. There's still a lot to play for. But the football and the results are disapointing and have been for a while. But fuck me, there's surely loads of options out there who would jump at the chance. Had you heard of Jack Ross before he was given the opportunity? No, neither had I. Because it isn't my job to scout potential managers. I was happy with his appointment though, because it seemed like a forward thinking one. It still could turn out well, but he needs to f***ing perform better.

If he can not that squad up this year then he isn't the man chief.

Can not spend more than the entire league combined and not go up. It's pure failure.
If you think Jack is choosing which players have been brought in you are showing some naivety!

Was told by a club employee that the owners have had him in for a meeting and are concerned about the way are results are going. Apparently he is under No immediate pressure but they are definitely getting nervous. Personally like Ross and hope he succeeds.

People saying another year in League 1 won’t be that bad are insane like.

The club probably won’t survive another season in League One financially, let alone the fact that we’ll be stuck here for seasons to come.

We’ve scraped by this year on parachute payments, getting some cash for the dead wood, and getting some huge gates for the division.

The gates will crash next year with the dross being served up, no parachute payments (Donald has already said we will need what’s left just to operate if we fail to go up) and we’ve sold what’s left of the family silver.

We’ll still have catts and co on sky high wages while not contributing, and anyone half decent will be sold off / push to be away.

But aye, another year in league one will be canny. Go to a couple of new grounds and that

Agree. This would greatly set us back and scupper the progress plans. That money has to be for the Championship and I am sure that that is what the owners expect. I like Ross and hope to hell he succeeds but would be a massive failure if we don't go up this season.
