Jack Ross sacked at Dundee Utd

One of the SMB tropes that currently gets right on my tits is all this “Jack Ross is a good man” horse shit.

I suppose if you repeat it often enough on here it must be true?

Who the fuck knows that he’s a good man? How does anyone know? What are the criteria for being “a good man”?

It’s such a pile of shit man. Try some independent thinking just for a minute. Just cos someone on here claims he was a good man doesn’t mean you all have to fall in line and repeat it.

He was manager of our team for a short time and now he’s gone. I personally could not give a flying fuck if he was a good man or not. He was a failure at managing our team and that’s all that matters. (Plus he wore f***ing cardigans. Cardigans!) I don’t care if our manager gets pissed every night, cheats on his missus and beats his dog. If he gets us up the table and gets us promoted in my eyes he will be “a good man” -ager and that’s all that matters to me.

Ditto all the sad lonely ponces who claim to “love”
any of our recent managers. You come off as desperate and pathetic.
I take great exception to "beats his dog" mind

Wow. Your vitriol toward the humble Cardigan is shocking mate :)

Wow. Bet you'd love the Saudis as our owners too wad ya?

Are people seriously still claiming Ross was decent and was dealt a bad hand 😂

He’s been sacked twice since we sacked him, for very good reasons, or was that just bad hands and not his fault as well?

He was absolutely pathetic, the job was far too big for him, and because he was too scared to lose he cost us two Wembley wins and promotion. On one of those occasions he was quite literally gifted a 1-0 lead and still decided defence first.

Pretty much my thoughts tbh.

I liked Jack, seemed a decent bloke. But SAFC under him had far to many draws, and as you mentioned, when we went 1-0 up, it was almost an automatic cue for the team to sit back and park the proverbial bus.

He almost had the same number of games as LJ did, and win %, but so many more games were draws. I cant remember imploding defensively like we did under LJ, but how may of those 27 draws he got could have been wins if he didnt just try and defend a 1-0 lead, more often than not with a full half still to go.

That’s it in a nutshell and why i consider him a bit of a coward. His whole mentality changed to not losing as the job was too big for him.

His obsession with not losing stopped us going up at the first time of asking, even in his interviews it was all about unbeaten records instead of winning games.

Decent bloke
Shafted by the clown shoe owners
At fault for not gaining auto promotion due to being too cautious.
At fault for Wembley
Sacked with no class from Donald.
I wish him no Ill.

Same here.

He had his faults, but I’d place him above LJ and Parkinson in terms of achievement at the club whilst down in the doldrums. Hope he rediscovers his mojo at the right club.

What people always forget in their haste to defend and to blame Donald, Methven, Coton whoever is that firstly he presided over 11 of those 19 draws when Maja was at the club and he was never in the top two and although he warned Donald off Grigg at that price, he also actually said he wanted him, yet had no idea how to set up to play with him.

Appreciate the squad wasn't massively strong everywhere, but no squad ever is at that level. A good manager, not a fantastic one, would have got us promoted that season.
