I thought he did his job well enough. He contributed to our massive possession and territorial advantage, which we were incapable of taking advantage of thanks to some wayward shooting by Richardson and Sessegnon.

He won some very good tackles as usual. Then when we threw caution to the wind, we took him off and put on a more attacking player to force the matter, which worked That's how it works, but we can't start a game like that. He should start again alongside Vaughan next week. He's the sort of player who would do well against a player like Modric.

Yep, I think cattermole will be in the sin bin before half-time if hes allowed anywhere near modric next week. meyler probably not fit enough to cope with him and parker so i'd stick with the same and 'possibly' consider dropping richardson in there to help out as well. I'll settle for 0-0 next week

Remember Catts tackle last year on Modric? Class tackle imo.

No it wasn't. It was reckless and he was very lucky to stay on the pitch.
typical of how he loses his head when (as captain) he really should be looking to steady the ship.

I dont think it was intentionally a bad challenge in that he was unlucky that his foot bounced off the top of the ball and hit his shins. It was reckless in this day and age of football unfortunately but he was intentionally out to hurt him.

Get fucked, it was a f***ing brilliant tackle.

Is the only reason to play him - That Modric might have flashbacks and shit himself. Otherwise Catts will be chasing shadows because Modric is infinitely smarter than he is.

We managed a draw that game and then a few days later went and won 3-0 at Chelsea.

He was certainly chasing shadows.

I think the tackle was, he was unlucky that his foot bounced up off the ball. But unless we play a very compact 5 man midfield, then he's not going to get near their players.

We only need one of our CM to be neat and tidy not BOTH. Vaughn will be the neat and tidy one, so the other has to be a bit different. Gardner or Cattermole for me like.

It's weird. rocky is always critical of other players, and I mean this in a good way. He's very honest and unbiased.

Until it comes to Lee Cattermole. It doesn't matter how badly Cattermole plays, rocky will never criticise him or want him dropped.

Not sure Colback's quite ready yet. He's neat, tidy and isn't afraid to put a tackle in, but ultimately he doesn't really have much of an effect on the game at the moment. I'd be tempted to leave him on the bench next week.

I do like Cattermole, I'd be in my strongest 11. I possibly do stick up for him a bit over the top because some of the stick he gets us ridiculous. It pains some people to give him any credit. He's played well in his last 3 games imo.

I also like to give credit where its due as well, Vorn for example played well yesterday. I haven't been that impressed with him up until yesterday.

I'd be tempted to play a compact 5 against Spurs tbh.

Larsson, Catts, Vorn, Meyler or Colback, Sess.

I'd agree but would prob move Larsson into a central position as the attacking midfielder and leave Sess and Richardson outwide.

He's Paul Thirlwell with a bit more energy.

Overall not good enough at this moment in time. If Meyler is fully fit I'd be tempted to give him a few games as neither Colback or Cattermole are the answer for me.

Colback i like and i think he has potential to be very good he however has been very poor the past few weeks and his performance or not the same standard as they where end last season , he was very poor on saturday.

His relucktance to turn into space and make forward move or pass against a team who where twenty yards away from him on the halfway line was very frustrating and maybe shows a lack of confidence .

I would drop him on Sunday with out a doubt.
