Jack Clarke

Yea fair one.

It just would have been in his interests (and his agents(and ours)) to find a team which he at least suited their system and style of play. And possibly, even wasn’t going to be in a battle for survival.

Example was he was linked with Lazio strongly for 6 months. They play a 4231, he would have smashed it IMO.

Palace linked, much better option.

Fk me, hed have been better off going to Leeds and taking the piss in the championship than what’s happened.
He would have got even less games at palace

Yep, you could clearly see from his touch and control he was a good footballer. It was a real shame when he went to Wigan.
He turned us down when we got simms and the season started with simms and Stewart playing well together so he probably thought he'd be on the bench.

I camt stand Clarkes agent either as others have said but it's always the players choice.you pay the agent for advice and help for what you want to do.

Got him a big pay rise..that's really all that matters.
Long term it could make him worse off though. Right now his stock is poor. If Ipswich go down and Clarke continues not even coming off the bench, no premier league club will come in for him. It’s short term certainty in terms of a gain but likely to be long term loss IMO. Plus he will have a relegation cut to his wages. If it was clear McKenna was always going to play this way, then it’s a poor move from Harte and his advisors.

Zaccagni plays on the left of the 3 though and he’s their captain and best player so he’d just be on the bench there too.
They play in Europe. He’d likely have played more minutes than he has at Ipswich.

Also the style they play, the level Lazio are at in seria a and the level seria a is (ie slightly below the prem) would have been better for JC.

He’d have also been living in and around Rome instead of in and around 🚜 shaggers

No sympathy from me..he saw the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow and he was off..same as Stewart..make your bed and all that..Harte won't give a shite..he gets paid regardless.

Seems to me that players don't realise this.

Clarke wanted to stay. As did Harte. If they paid him what he wanted and deserved he would still be here. Move on.

You have clubs that suit certain players and Clarke suited Sunderland we got the best out of him. Unfortunately it looks like Ipswich doesn’t suit him at all and Ipswich don’t play with out and out wingers
Dont disagree so my question still stands - why spend up to £15m on him? Have they simply made a mistake?
