It's begun

It hasn't begun though has it? Link me to a post that's solely blaming Dick for the performance please.

I think Dick would freely admit he got his tactics wrong, and that he may have picked the wrong team. But nothing can excuse that joke of a performance in the first half.

You are a WUM, nothing more, you offer no interesting insights into what happens in SAFC games, you exist merely to get on people's nerves on here, you are a total c*nt.

You like to think of yourself as being objective, but I can't ever recall you complementing our fans.

Did you not watch the match on Saturday? Our fans were very vocal considering we were getting beat and the display was awful. Good support in my eyes that, encouraging the players. Would have thought you would compliment that behaviour.

And also therefore no worse than other fans, so why do you try and make out we are.
I think our fans along with Newcastle are more inclined to spit the dummy out than a lot of other fans. Look at the atmosphere Stoke have created over last few seasons and they've not done massively better than us probably other than last season points wise.
I just think this whole we deserve better stuff is pathetic and quicker we realise this and stop feeling sorry for ourselves the better the SOL atmosphere will be again.
We are a lower end top flight club, history tells us that so why get all irate when we are at the lower end? Makes no sense.

I think all fans spit the dummy out more than a lot of fake fans. Look at the atmosphere Stoke have created over last few seasons and they've not done massively better than us probably other than last season points wise - even they still have a percentage of fans whinging.
I just think this whole having a repetitive go at people who think "we deserve better stuff" is pathetic and the quicker you realise this and stop posting sorry threads on the matter the better the RTG atmosphere will be again.
We are a football club with a mixture of fans with all-sorts of different thoughts so why not just accept it? Makes no sense.

European football
FA cup final
Finished 9th 9th and 10th in their last three seasons
15 wins last season to our 7
Don't think they've finished on fewer than 44 points since they came up

1 game into the season, that's right ONE and already we have fans having a dig at advocaat, the self congratulatory we deserve better posts have begun and the realisation we aren't going to be spending anymore than we have the last few seasons seems to have dawned on a few!
We lost away from home to a side that finished above us last season. Hardly a shock was it! You'd think we were one of the leagues big hitters losing a game we expect to win the way some have reacted.

Job's comforter sprung forth.

we were dire last season and have done nothing to address the issue (midfield) so it was hardly surprising we got done over

it's hardly 'begun', it's simply carrying on from last season

and the season before that

I should've been clearer to be honest.
Since they came up the atmosphere has been excellent there. They had some struggle as well at first and think we finished above them couple of times but in the main they get behind their team.
Way too much whinging and self pity goes on from our fans in my opinion.

It does help that they've tended to play a simple attacking game. Whenever I've seen Stoke away from home they've been utter gash but any sort of "up and at 'em" style will generate an atmosphere at home.

The one thing that may take a generation to recover from is relegation in 2003 and 2006. I think the utter humiliation of those seasons has left deep scars in our support so that when things begin to turn, we see them going downhill really fast. Like anything, the response is probably protective as you can only get kicked in the bollocks so many times. The support has become more apathetic and there is more of an expectation that the players must play their part in generating an atmosphere. People have shorter fuses and a lower tolerance to rubbish match days. Outside match day, the bulk of our support is as patient and reasoned as any football support and certainly more realistic than our cousins up the road.

There may be an element of self pity, the feeling of being cursed or "why always us?" but perhaps that's the price of having supporters stubborn enough to keep turning out in their tens of thousands despite near constant misery. You may say that's their choice and they shouldn't be congratulated for it but we have literally nothing else to feel good about bar our support. I think it's fair enough to say that I doubt it would happen at many other clubs if they'd been a national laughing stock twice in 4 seasons and had had nothing to cheer bar six or seven derby games and one cup run in 8 seasons.

Dreadful. I have no issue with booing them at end of game to show dissatisfaction but to spend half the second half berating the manager then hurling abuse at players at final whistle isn't exactly what id call good support mind.
Given the pedestal we like to put ourselves on you'd expect better really.

So why do it then? Surely you'd want to try and lift the players as a supporter rather than hinder them.

We did, the support that day was excellent.

We tried to lift them but they were totally shot to pieces ......... besides, if wonderful support doesn't lift them then why should signing one song regarding the manager hinder them? Aren't they supposed to be professional football players who can perform irrespective of the supporters .......... I seem to recall you expressing those very sentiments in the past.

It wasnt, I was there, and as soon as the first went in (2 minutes) the atmosphere was dead. Until the vitriolic stuff started.

Do you exempt yourself from that?

Sorry but that's nonsense.

The 'vitriolic' stuff didn't happen until the 2nd half and the game was lost.

Until then we'd supported the team even though we were being embarrassed on the pitch.

Sorry but that's nonsense.

Its not like. Look for the threads about it at the time. Everyone was saying the fans never got going and gave the excuse that the players gave up after 2 minutes. In fact many seemed flat as soon as news came through Defoe wasnt playing.

I can't be bothered looking through old threads when I was there and know what I heard & saw.

We disagree, too bad.

Fair enough mate, it just seems you never seem to say our fans were crap or whatever, always that we were mint and got let down. Whereas when we are classl i say so, and when we are shite i also say so. Fair enough you can say going a goal down in 2 mins is a reason the fans were flat, but to say they werent full stop is wrong.

Edit: Although our fans cant win on this place, cos they have been getting slated for singing when 3 down at the weekend (accepting shite apparently)

They rarely are away from home that's why, I can't say the opposite to appear 'balanced' for people who don't agree.

The atmosphere at Bradford wasn't 'dead' after they scored, I can't say any more than that.

Cant disagree with any of that. Its pretty pathetic stuff like.
