give him time. When was the last time Italy were in the play offs? Was it when Alan Hutton was fouled in the last minute and the referee awarded the FK to Italy from which they scored? Obviously there was no guarantee that Italy would score from the free kick but they certainly weren't going to score if the ref awarded Scotland the foul and allowed them to pump the ball up field.

So the ref insured Italy won by awarding them a free kick in the last minute:lol:

was the last chance for Italy to do anything. Winger bounces into Hutton and sends him over, ref could have given Scotland the free kick ending all hope but decided Hutton who was lying on the deck was the aggressor and give Italy the chance to knock it into the box. They did. They scored. Game over.

I did say there was obviously no guarantee which you've ignored. The same would apply to giving a team a penalty. There's no guarantee they'd score but it certainly improves chances.

Do you honestly think if a game was fixed or a ref was wanting a certain team to win they would do in ny awarding a team a free kick in the last minute then hope they score from it?

Listen to yourself ffs
