It was brutal but funny

Only worse areas I can remember off the top of my head was near Upton Park, awful there  and some of the areas round white hart lane.

I always found Upton Park okay. I remember some hammer once trying it on down that back alley despite having his young lad with him, but it was something of nothing. When people talk about shitholes around the ground, White Hart Lane is usually the first that springs to mind.

Very posh. Did you go yesterday ? That was a unexpected stuffing.

Yes got outmuscled and closed down well.
Lincoln looked good however at 2-1 down we had our spell but didn’t score then got done on the Counter. Reckon we need a few games with yet another rebuild but still think we are stronger that last season.

Leeds, birmingham Nottingham,Luton, are poor from bigger places. Slough,Runcorn,Grimsby and Scunthorpe aren’t delightful, I hate liverpool too, once out of the polished areas it’s rough.

Some of the nicer places were I’ve worked are Surrey,Brighton,York even Southampton were I was was nice.

It’s a big old country we live in and some places where I’ve been I’ve never discovered every inch of so what I say is bad somebody could’ve had a better experience than me,some of what I reckon is good could be somebody else’s shite. I just think the north east is rubbished when I’ve seen what I’d call worse

Leeds is quite a nice city but it's rough around the ground.

My daughter lived in Luton for couple of years. It really isn't that bad. Mind in the time she was there she never took us out in Luton.
We would get the taxi to Harpenden , lovely place or get the express into London.
Live in bushmead, it's a nice area but I avoid the town centre night or day (dreadful at times) every fan who comes to Luton think the Asian area is Luton, it's total bollox to be honest.

I'm only assuming, but Luton is probably like a smaller version of Bradford. Large ethnic communities, and some rough/deprived areas close to the centre, but some affluent and lovely areas on the outskirts.

The town centre and bury park ( the footy ground ) are stuck in a time warp and that's all anyone see's.

Murder wasn't it, the police seemed to find the whole thing funny despite people worrying about trains.

Aye wasn’t even a long walk guess they have had trouble with other teams in the past , should have escorted the bus as you say people could have missed connections we had open return so ok

I'd much rather live here in a quiet NE backwater than anywhere down south I've seen. Probably 100k cheaper as well
Well said marra ..we are very lucky with the people and area we live in(a few exceptions but in the main all is pretty good)

There was trouble before the match on the walk between the station pubs and the ground.

Their regular group of idiots were being followed around by half a dozen coppers.

When we got back to the Wheelwright pub one of them was just being marched out in handcuffs.

The polis had seen him causing bother before the match and knew where to find him

We're lucky to live in the UK full stop.
100 per cent marra...never wanted to live anywhere else..yes things aint perfect all the time but we are free to make our own life ( with the wifeys permission of course)

Came out of the away end and the police were herding people onto 'coaches for the station' so I jumped on.

25 minutes later we were still there, it's a 15 minute walk

We eventually moved off into normal traffic with no escort and crept along for another twenty minutes on a hot bus.

The lad across from me fell asleep, obviously drunk, and woke up sharp when we had to brake in the high street.

There were endless sari shops, cheap gold jewellery and stalls selling yams, etc .... alost everyone was Asian origin.

Our hero opened his eyes, squinted at the scene outside the bus and said,

"Fuck-ing hell, how lang have I been a kip!"

This got a belly laugh from my Canadian uncle
