BBC 'It was a bad afternoon' - Le Bris

On the point about criticising players in private/public, one of the narratives all season has been that Le Bris wants players to work out their own solutions to problems. I wasn't at the talk in with O'Nien and Dan Neil the other week but heard Frankie talking about it - apparently they said Le Bris never actually criticises, he'll just pause the video at a particular moment, raise an eyebrow and leave the players to work out themselves what went wrong.

No doubt that is great for developing players and encouraging them to think, but I hope he's more direct than that. We've looked bereft of ideas for a while now and certainly looked like our race is run since the Leeds game. Youth development has to take a backseat at this stage of the season and we need to focus on building momentum for the play offs. On a side note, I never agreed with the criticism Lampard got for his managerial record, but at the same time he's clearly more of a vibes and momentum man than a tactician and we've played into their hands by rolling over for them.
He needs to be a bit more direct I think.

“Zis is euh ow to say, sheet”

Mepham, Mundle and Mayenda started today. Took the place of Ballard, Le Fee (both injured) and Isidor. It would be easier to rotate the squad if we were healthy, but if we had sat Bellingham/Neil/Roberts today for Watson/Browne/Aleksic and lost people would still be complaining. RLB said at the outset of the season that it was going to be a long road for a young team and there would be lots of ups and downs. We're in one of the "downs" right now and just need to work through it.

We been on a level for months, we’ve now reached the down stage but his selections, tactics and subs have been pretty crap, anyone saying otherwise is deluded.
He doesn’t look like he has any idea how to work through it

He's a midtable manager. Hasn't got the balls to go for it, and sets his teams up not to lose rather than to go out and win. There's no bite or attacking instinct.

It doesn't look like players are allowed to go beyond their man to create space, and we have to play infront of teams due to the slow, short passing game that bores fans and (our players) to death.

We're not too different to a cluster of teams in this league, much like Boro who sit 8th. Yesterday was a good opportunity to see how we'd get on against a side who we may be placed with in the playoffs. Coventry looked ready for the challenge, we buckled under the pressure.

RLB stating they are knackered is mental
For months now we have seen a lack of rotation and an unwillingness to use substitutes.
Maybe he’s still naive and it’s a learning process for him.
The midfield is the key for me, it’s slow, we don’t transition the play quick enough which includes Jobe and his 360 degree turns.
As a club we’re making progress, promotion this season is so close and yet we can’t seem to get some form together for the run in.
Every game I go to I’m optimistic usually, yesterday I expected a defeat.
I must admit I wish he’d show some emotion at times and doesn’t seem to get into the game when we sat too deep and we all know we are going to concede they way we are playing, he seems to just let the players decide what’s wrong
Don’t get too down lads and lasses it’s not over yet.

Just seen his post match comments in the paper saying he could have changed 5,6,7 or 8 players at halftime we were that bad, yet he still didn’t make a substitution until almost a third of the way through the 2nd half🤬

Aye but didnt say those changes would make us Brazil.Love it on here when people want anyonewith a daft foreign name to play but when asked to pick the team.........they say Patto,Hume,Mepham Ballard,09,Cirkin,Rigg,Jobe,Neil,Roberts,Mundle,Watson depending on fitness.Reggie shouldnt be getting the blame for owners who have no ambition.Every manager is coming up against the same brick wall ,the common denominators are KLD/KS.

Was working yesterday so haven't seen the "highlights" from yesterday, doubt there are many from our perspective anyway. I gather it could've been even worse. I really hope this International break refreshes staff and players alike, because our play-off journey will be short playing like that... Usually one team makes a late burst, and I hope Coventry drop down the league as they're a bogey team alright...

I am a tad worried that we have been found out a bit. Especially coming in from the wing.

Everyone says we’ve been found out. There was no element of discovery about our game plan at all. From the beginning our tactic was weak as piss and never likely to achieve long term success.

So was I. I start work at 3 pm. By all accounts we offered nothing. But my overwhelming feeling is even a break will not make a difference. Regis will still do the same thing each and every week. He will not be thinking right now, “We really underperformed yesterday. I must find a way to change things. I must make big changes”. He will be chilling with the family having Sunday dinner.

No one expected us to turn into Brazil ffs,he also said they were exhausted so another reason to make changes at halftime

You can have as many plans as you want... if the players have lead in their boots, no tactics will work.
Coventry wanted it more, they won all the 50:50 balls and were half a yard quicker..
I can only speculate, the players reckon they are in the play-offs ( not if they continue to play like yesterday) and are out of the automatic promotion... so cannot be bothered.

So Bris and his team are not good at giving the players a boot up the backside? All players towards the end of the season in all clubs get fatigued, but don't give up as we did yesterday.

No. Frankly. That’s why he needs to go. He will just do the same thing next time. He will bench Isidor and probably put players in the wrong position.

Exhausted? That’s alright then. Is he for real? It’s just one lame excuse after another.

It was actually completely different to his normal interview

1) He looked shaken
2) He admitted they are exhausted.
3) He said autos has gone and it's now about playoffs.
He needs to stop with this tiredness shite. He is giving the players an excuse. Its the same for every team in the League. It becomes self fullfilling if you coach keeps saying it.
Someone needs to tell him to stop spouting it.
We werent motivated, playing a team who were motivatex.

Keep crying cause they took your shit flags away 😆😆😆

Hahaha wheeeey.

I wanted Johnson sacked before I was involved with flags, we got promoted as a result.

You wanted Johnson kept in post and thought the club deserved “the worst” for sacking. You know nowt about football, except the inner workings of its arsehole, your head is so far up it.

Hahahahahaha as if this is comparable to Lee Johnson man 😆😆 You know fuck all. You prefer us losing to winning and your flags were the level of a 6 year old, I was embarrassed looking at them.

Aye? Strange how you never said anything at the time😂😂😂

I’m embarrassed reading your posts man. Of course it’s comparable. In the playoffs, in poor form, sleep walking to a playoff defeat.

Let’s revisit it in May shall we?

We are shit like. Have been for months. A tremendous start is the only reason we are still in the playoffs.

Even when we win we haven't been convincing at all. Wasteful upfront, weak in midfield and shaky at the back.

Not optimistic at all about our playoffs hope. Players are burnt out and squad is too thin. Zero ambition shown in January is gona come back to bite us in the arse.
