It’s Mr Corden and Fulwell 73...isn’t it?

Ha sorry mate I agree though your groundwork speculation does sound very plausible!

They are from the North East though. The Turner brothers are big Sunderland fans as is Leo Pearlman.

I know yeah, thought they were from London?

Not sure it is them like, although I'd love it

Yeah mate all moved to London. Agree still in the dark with who it is but sounds promising fingers crossed.

Interesting, I am sure I read they were from London with like Sunderland parents or something, I must be completely wrong

I just don't think in anyway you would describe them as a "North east based", would be misleading, unless that is the ai,

Anyway yeah I hope you are right mate.

None of them actually grew up in Sunderland, however.

The Turner brothers Gabe and Ben were born in North London. But their parents are from Sunderland which is where their love of the football club comes from.

Fair enough sorry didn’t realise. Leo Pearlman their cousin and one of the 4 main Fulwell73 men is from North East though & didn’t move till he was 18

People need to look beyond the personalities and realise that all we want is for people to run the club who have a passion for it and will run it credibly. I have no hard and fast view on Corden but he has a huge media presence in the biggest market in the world ie the USA that could only help SAFC. Lets not bite the hand that could potentially feed us.

Very good point that (and poster you replied to) I hadn't really thought about that at all.

What baffles me with James Corden, is that I have never heard anyone say they think he is funny. I f***ing hate him and that seems to be the case with anyone I have ever asked and people on here.

Who the fuck keeps giving him a wedge to be on the telly. Talentless twat. I would have took my boy to see Peter rabbit until I saw he was the lead role. Fuck that!

I do like. Love Gavin and Stacey

Was just going to mention this ya bassa ;)

What if the groundwork is already being laid down for this takeover?

First of all that bizarre mention of F73 making a takeover bid.

Then a reality show/documentary to publicise SAFC on a worldwide network (Netflix) beforehand.

Classic underdog story. Club at lowest ever ebb, bankuptcy beckons, only way is up, great fans, massive potential, etc.

Like any TV pilot, if it proves popular it will be extended.

Mystery consortium pops up as if by magic which includes F73 amongst others.

The more investors involved, the more the cost is spread out. If Short stays then he stands to benefit from the "rescue".

From the off we'd have a cash injection, worldwide publicity, and James Corden leading the charge.

SAFC, the world's first reality TV Football team ;)

Was day dreaming morning along the above lines. I am sure ES would be keen to get the contacts in Hollywood for his other business. That is after all partly why he originally entered in to owning SAFC? To expand his other business contacts and network.

according to ALS one of Short's demands is that the club should be on the "value of future players"

is mystic meg involved, didn't realise she's a MLF?

i assume they mean the future value of players?
Ellis Short: acting in the best interests of Sunderland AFC right up until the end and right up to the point that his own interests are serviced. What a guy.

what does media presence matter we need people with enough funds to invest and have football knowledge does he have enough of either as well as the others if it was them.

Well known owners would maybe increase our profile and draw in bigger funds from sponsors or other investors - might help us a little or do nothing.

He will want a good deal obviously, but I’d take the ALS stuff with a pinch of salt.

The stuff yesterday was probably leaked to put pressure on Short to conclude the deal ASAP.

Cordon is clearly a talented bloke, if you watch his openings to the Tony awards (not exactly target market for most of us on here) it’s clever stuff. Not really my cup of tea either, but to say he’s got nothing about him is pretty blinkered.

Regardless, Fulwell73 haven’t got the kind of cash to buy a football club so there would have to be big investor or group they’ve brought in, and I can’t imagine any of this would have anything to do with Cordon...
