Is this the worst you've ever felt about the club?

Finally thought we were on the up with BSA and the squad we had at the end of last season. Genuinely cannot believe we've gone from that team who finished last season to this now. Moyes seemed to lack any self belief and seems a beaten man, whole squad rife with injuries and no sign of Short f***ing off (or anyone wanting to buy us for that matter).
Honestly can't see how we are going to get out this rut we are in at the moment.
Don't be so f***ing stupid.

Don't know if it's down to having less free time on weekends to get down to the matches but I've felt less enthused with not just Everton but football in general this season. Going out the League Cup knocked a lot of good feeling out as its only that and the FA Cup that I have any hope of seeing us do well in.

No, standing in the away end at Gillingham watching Tony Cascarino fuck us over was a bit shit.
100% this. People who think this is bad need to let the thought of being in away ends for a league match at the likes of Gillingham, Northampton etc sink in.

Yes.

In the 15 point season we literally had no money and no hope. Everyone knew it was going to be a disaster season so it wasn't a shock at all. I couldn't wait for the season to end so we could go down.

At the end of last season we were all optimistic but yet again the same old mistakes have been repeated. I've began to realise that unless we're board out by a freakishly rick owner who is willing to blow shit loads on a spectacular side, we're never going to do anything in this league. I know for a fact we won't do anything with Short at the helm. The bloke and his board are absolutely useless.
Do last season's champions not offer you even the faintest glimmer of hope? For me that shook apart the 'need megsbucks to compete and we will never, ever challenge for the title in my lifetime' (I'm only 35) assumption I'd developed. Alright, it won't happen often, but I remember laughing my back off when they appointed the manager so their achievement breathed new life into football for me.

Not really. I think it shows that the top teams are far from invincible, that an organised, spirited team can do well providing they have sufficient quality to hurt teams. Leicester are a very well run club though, we have been a shambles for as long as I care to remember. In recent years it has been as amateurish as it gets, especially for a team operating in the most lucrative league in the world.

I just think we need shot of Short, we need a complete restructure and the club needs a new lease of life. It's flat, the fans are flat and the players look flat. It's not good at all and we're so far away from any sort of success.

They're not under any real pressure to perform though. The fans continue to go back, we haven't kicked up a stink and have let them get on with it. We've really pulled together when things look bleak, which although admirable has gone unrewarded. The club take the fans for granted. They don't appear to hold themselves accountable for anything, there's no real transparency and they haven't learned from their mistakes.

Have never felt bad about being Sunderland as it is what we are

Nowhere near.....

Worst three seasons in living memory for me that were worse that this one...

Relegated to the old 3rd Division
15 Point Season
Reid's Relegation Season

When even Martin O'Neil (working underneath a billionaire Texan) failed I knew the game was up and that there was no hope for this club. So I gave up then. Can't really get any lower than that for me and since then we've just been fighting against the inevitable, sadly.

Exactly it is what we are
I`ve seen the lads at chesterfield port vale etc
How can it be that an established prem team can be worse?

Wigan mud slide, was there. I love this city. Get pissed off when people want to bring us down like some second rate citizens. We aren't. We are Sunderland. Despite what the media might think, fuck them. Rant over.

Probably any 3 from 5 this season.

Sunderland
Middlesbrough
Hull
Burnley
Swansea

You can throw in maybe a surprise club, whilst Sunderland don't look great but neither do any of the other clubs in that mini group.

I think Burnley will be alright to be honest. Reaping the benefits of a board that know what they are doing and stability under a good young manager.

Leicester last year.

Leicester last year.

I referred to them earlier in the thread. Do you honestly think that will be replicated? I'll rephrase that, do you honestly think we'll replicate Leicester's success? Certainly not with Short at the help. It's more than investment. They are very well managed.

Their owners are actually interested.

15 point season was much worse
It was, but I think due to all the shit over the years including that season, it is for me. The embarrassing acts of footballers, managers, agents and even director hardly represent "Sunderland" in a very good light. Then the turd we have to watch on the pitch! Dear me!

I still go to games and watch matches out of habit more than anything. We have practically lost every week for the past 10 year. I appreciate its at a higher level and we should be grateful for our premiership status... but damn it's depressing.

Compound that with the fact that football is now a commercial worldwide business and has lost its meaning. I feel like I am cheering on Starbucks or Currys.

It's just not the same.

15 and 19 point seasons... Lowest of the low.....
