Is this just something we aren't used to?

Not managers being leaving

But managers being sacked before the wheels come all the way off, the car is in a ditch and on fire?

Thats two managers in a row now that have gone who were quite popular with the fans

Hopefully its a sign that the club are putting up with less mediocrity?
Thats what it appears like to me, but it wont cross some peoples minds on here, they have done it twice now

It was coming with Mowbray from Mowbrays comments alone. It can't be results based as we're better off this season than last at the same stage aren't we ?

He's obviously said something to upset the Hierarchy

It could be based on our recent form and they didnt think he could pull us out of it, I dont think his comments to the press have helped mind. But he will get another job so I doubt he is standing at a food bank

We are, how much of that was Neil?

I think that will be him retiring. He took this job because it was close to home.

Will only be a good decision if they have someone lined up and ready to drop in seamlessly
If it’s weeks of searching to get the next manager in and results keep suffering under a caretaker manager it won’t have made a difference.
We will soon see if any new manager that comes in has reinforcements in the window or has to work with the same squad or less if any are sold

His comments at the weekend were pretty much those of a manager/head coach who knew he was on the way out and was making it clear he didn't feel he'd been provided with the correct tools. I half thought that listening to it at the time, now with hindsight he obviously knew he was gone.

Probably that and they were already sniffing about as he was only ever a short term solution.

The thing I don't get is - If they are serious about a real progression and a promotion challenge right now, why are they bringing in so many foreign kids with so little experience or records to speak of in senior football and then expecting any level of consistency. Dropping a couple every window into an established squad is probably fine and gives them time to find their feet, but we've gone too far on it.

We're no longer taking lads who just can't get through 3 or 4 players from PL sides who have all the tools barring experience. We've signed lads who have a few attributes but lack experience/know how and have to adapt to the language, football culture and demands of the English game and mostly they just don't look at the same level or rounded enough footballers just yet.

Very well said.
I’m not sure what the club expected of him with the players he was given to replace the ones that left.

Or, has as been said elswhere he was living on borrowed time. The loan hasn't been extended due to mediocre results thus far, and it's time to move up another level.
