Is there any point learning the bass guitar?

Lemmy played it like a rhythm guitar, cliff burton played some great bass lines/intros/solos as well.
Who did you used to post as? This r have your bannings been on this account?
Mi do seem to vaguely recall your username as a complete knacker and your presence on this thread confirms my suspicions.
Did you have a stroke mid-post?

Yes, the neck is narrower on the jazz and I find it makes it more playable.

There are different switching options on the jazz and combined with the pickups you can get a wider range of tones.

Mind it has to be said a lot of players swear by the Precisio

Prefer a P Bass meself. Played a nice ‘64 last week and an early mij reissue which was rather nice.

That being said, bass players are an odd bunch.

I used to play with a lad who played a Kramer fretless bass. I may tell you more stories about him so I will not name him as he played with a very famous outfit that everyone will have heard of.

You need a bigger amp for bass guitar

A 100 watt valve guitar amp will pull your face off.

I would use an 800 watt bass amp to achieve a similar effect.

There is something visceral when the bass does not start immediately in a song but comes in after a few bars.

For example - Smoke on the water - listen around 30 seconds in.
